I cracked 2 wheels when I drifted into a curb on an off ramp. Girlfriend says she'll leave me if I race anymore. I have almost finished saving for my Elise but I'm kinda broke. I want to go with a 9.5" wheel and 285 hoosiers, please paypal donations to keep_my_story_straight@not_my_fault.com

As it is obvious that there will not be a proper request for closure, can we all please just let this thread die?

Hmmm..... at first when I read this thread, I felt really bad for the original poster because I know exactly how it feels to be in his situation... or at least I thought I did until I read some more posts...

It's one thing to blow up your motor and be deprived of transportation and the funds for repairs... but its another to blow up a motor, upgrade to a better and more expensive motor, with a new truck as a daily driver, with funds saved for another car, and THEN ask the general EvoM population for donations for your project.

Think of it this way... you're much better off than some of us with broken Evo's who DON'T have a daily driver or funds set aside for a new car. I completely agree with everyone saying you can just buy a cheap daily driver while you build your car... but then I read you have a new truck as a daily... simply WOW.

I thank you for posting about your engine failure experience, however, I find it pathetic to ask for money by portraying yourself to be in a very harsh situation... when in reality, you seem very well off and have the funds to build the car up.

Karma will frown upon you. =[

Ok every one has been asking the whole story so here it is.

Back in July I spent over $2,600. On my car. I took mods off my car and sold them to get better mods. Then I spent additional $3,600.00 I made planes to go to a well know shop in Ct. As they always worked on my car and I always had Dynoflash tune it. I was unable to tow my car up to this shop do to my friend’s roll back breaking down. He has 2 roll backs. So I seen people posting about this shop called Precision Dyno. Everyone was saying he’s a great guy he knows what he doing thanks Nick. So I called Nick up and told him my situation he said we will take care of you.

The next day I go to met Nick at his shop and he has 3 or more Evo’s in the lot so I fell a little relaxed. I tell Nick again what I wanted and what I have to get installed. He said I will only charge you $700.00 labor my friend that includes the cooling mist and all my mods. He installed my TME 6.5 turbo, exhaust manifold, down pipe, cams, lower and upper I/C pipes AEM EMS. Nick then tells me I should by the HKS timing gears that I will get more power. I did not by them before cause I was told by well known tuners and shops that it does not do much at all for a daily driver. Well Nick talked me into buying them. Now I told him I wanted the AEM EMS with EUGO he charged me $1,620.00 I have it now in front of me on my receipt. What I got was just the regular AEM EMS. That he was going to sell me for $1,300.00 but I now paid $1,620.00 for something I did not want. I wanted the one with wideband. I must have looked worried because he keep saying don’t worried my friend your in good hands. While I am talking to Nick he asked me who tunes my car I said Al at Dynoflash, Al he says he a good guy. Then he asked if I ever went to Turbo Trix I said no Nick showed a lot of hate towards TurboTrix saying he was going to put them out of business. I was just amazed. I know some venders don’t get along but Al never acted like that when I was with him. I remember when I first met AL he said come on Turbo Trix Is getting ready to race lets see how fast they go. There car went into the 9’s.

Nick tells me your car will be done on Tuesday. So Tuesday rolls up I get dropped off now I live an hour and a half away. I get there my car is not done. I called and they said it should be done before I arrive. This is around 11:00am I have to be in work by 6:00pm.
While my two daughters and I are waiting, Nick sends one of his employee’s and I to get my rotors cut for my front breaks. I come back my car has a mystery oil leak coming from the front seal. I was confused because no one should have touched the front seal oil was pouring out. I must have had that look on my face again because he said no need to worry my friend we will take care of it. Well I stood close by and watched as best I could. He then sends me back out with his employee to get exhaust gaskets from nappa auto parts. I come back about 20 minutes later it was fixed with out dropping the oil pan or removing anything wow 20 minutes that’s quick. Now I know why he sent me out withe his employee cause I was watching. Now my car is done and time for the dyno. I have to wait because a guy that drove his talon from New York came to get his car tuned. I was talking to him and he want to go to the same shop in Ct. but was unable to get an early appointment so he came to Precision Dyno. Well I bet he wish he would have waited because when that car was on the dyno it made two pulls then on the third pull the car came off the dyno. The poor guy must have **** himself only if you seen the look on his face. Well we all had to help get the car back on the dyno the guy ended up with only a damaged rear wheel and had to replace the tire. Do you think nick bought him a new tire no? Nick took a tire off of a costumer’s car to give him. My daughters said dad are you going to put your car up there I just looked at them I did not know what to say.

Well the reason the car came off was the front strap broke. Nick said the reason was your alignment is off and the car has a lot of power and was pulling to the left and broke the strap. Wow what a crock of **** that is. Well they found out what it was the costumers down pipe was on top of the strap and melted it. So negligence and inexperience on Nicks part on setting cars on dyno’s.

Well it is now around 5:00pm and my car is still not done so I had to call out of work that day. Well we finally get my car on the dyno he puts in 100% water in the alky kit my car hits 351 whp on the Mustang dyno. Then it gets corrected to 345whp He said bring the car back and we will retune it with the alcohol. I said ok. Then he says don’t forget to post on the forum but post the higher numbers they like to see high numbers. I was like OK.

So now I have my car it pulls real hard in first I am happy. I drive my car around I make a left turn the cars stalls wont start. After I get towed home $40.00 never asked to pay for the tow. I call Nick up he said he was going to come down to were I live never did. Thank god I found the problem I find it was a fuse under the hood 20amp I go to the parts store and buy a box of fuses. This was going on for a week could not figure out what it was. Then one day I met DrEvo a member who wanted to buy some stock parts from me. I was 45 minutes from home I stopped at Quickie Mart to get a drink I got in my car and it would not start. I went through a whole box of fuses as soon as I turned the key they would pop we were both puzzled. $75.00 to get towed home. (Yes my friend has a tow truck but he is up in Pa. I am In Maryland 1hr ½ from him) I Posted on the forum and Timzcat hit on the head I went to the sensor behind my test pipe and the whole exhaust system was over to the right and when I made left turns the O2 sensors would hit the floor board and pop the fuse. So I jack up the car and had to take the sensor out it was all twisted up I reset it back in and adjusted the exhaust system. After all that the car started up and did not have a problem since 8-2005 Now the reason the exhaust was off was the WRONG exhaust doughnut it was for a stock system. Nick told me he had to replace mine. I have a turbo XS down pipe and DNP o2 housing and he puts in a stock exhaust doughnut. I heard an exhaust leak from my down pipe so I called Turbo XS and ordered a new exhaust doughnut I paid $8.00 for that and Nick charged me $17.00 for a stock one. I have fixed that problem myself and a boost leak that he tuned my car to. Now we can jump back on track here.

Now during the week Nick calls me up and said I for got to tell you but bring you cam sensor with you, you for got to give it to me and I need it I had to take one off of a customer car. I said to my self that’s F*#@ed up. So I go in and bring it to him. My car goes back on the dyno and he runs 100% alky in the car. The alky is set to come on at 9 lbs. of boost. Now I am getting worried. Well they could not tune the car on 100% alky I did not want 100% anyway and he did not ask if he could so. Then he went with 50/50 alky/water. That Thursday night we go to Atco Raceway my car would not do better then a 12.7 and spending $6,200.00 I was running 12.1 prior to all this work on a stock ecu. and all of this was on pump gas.

Now we are at the STI/WRX vs. Evo Englishtown NJ 8-2005 I have my car prep ready to race. We all go up to staging. I race still beating the subi but I run a 13.7 I was like what the F*#k I went through all the gears fine came off the line good and a 13.7 wow my car was just as fast stock. I go to Nick Pissed he told me to calm down he will fix it. He tells me to put some race gas in so I do that. I meet him back in staging he hooks my AEM back up to his lap top not mine his does what ever he does then he say I took off your knock control then takes his laptop out and said try that. I go down the track I get stuck at 12.0. I talk to a few really well known tuners showed them my time slip they told me to turn the boost up a little more now I try that now I run 11.9 I was happy.

I made it as an alternate #9 at the shoot out. They only took 8 I was happy I thought Nick was a god and new his ****. Then the real Nick came out. I was in the stands with my 14 year old daughter watching the races with some of Precision Dyno crew when Nick went and made a pass his hood flew open and slammed into the windshield. This happen on the track. Now I would be mad too but he went a little too far. We all met him in the pits. He got out of his car screaming and cursing F this mf that my daughter got scared other people were looking and I thought he was going to get in a fight with this guy . He blamed his Precision Dyno employees for the hood blowing up. He belittled them and humiliated them in front of a lot of people. I never seen any other vender act like this when they broke something on there cars. I was on my way home from the race and I get a phone call from Al he wanted to know how I made out so I told him. Then I asked him what knock control was and that Nick took it off when I was racing. Al told me to pull over and he told me how to put it back on. I had to full my gas tank up with 93 Oct to go home and drove awhile like that. Wow Nick let me go home like that.
The day after the STI vs. EVO race I put my stock ecu back in and had AL reflash it.
There was nothing wrong with my car when Al retuned it I have data logs for that.
Now on 11-26-05 I go the track and hook up my AEM then problems happen. My car had the same amount of 93 oct. and race gas as he tuned it that day at the shootout. So I go 11.6 and was happy but when I had the tune reviewed it was not that good of a tune.

Now after all this posting and stuff I realized that Nick should have showed me on how use my AEM if you guy’s do research and look I posted some questions about the AEM Nick called me to ask what the problem but still never showed me nothing.

Now I find out I got F#@ked.

1. The front seal oil leak FRUAD he for got to put the cam seal in. He had his mechanic act like he was putting in a new one. I had a mechanic come to my house the other day and he stated it was never touched.

2. I was sold used HKS cam gears off of his car for $320.00 he had his mechanic clean them up. I paid for new ones.

3. I got a used AEM EMS from another car. He was unable to get the wide band for me. He said that to me yesterday because wideband was $1,900. Wow he went to Ohio for a race and bought an AEM off a vender there Now he is an AEM dealer I wonder if I got his AEM. From his car.

4. He took off a cam sensor from a costumer car and put it on mine.

5. The gaskets I paid for from the dealer and I got double of everything and got charged by him again.

6. He gave me the impression I was getting tuned for free because I was spending a lot of money. The so called 2 days of wasted dyno time to get a tune at the track and is the only map I get. Come on now. $400.00 for wasted time. I seen an AEM cd on his desk I asked him do I get one of those so he gives me an old one that has scratches on it.from out of his desk.

7. Now he said all the labor would be $700.00 so how can he charge me $35.00 for install of upper I/C pipe and get $150.00 install of alky kit if anything the alky kit should cover the install of the I/C pipe cause the nozzle has to be put in that from the alky kit. The $150.00 and $35.00 $700.00 + $885.00 labor not $700.00

8. Then I get charge $124.00 cc fee if I would have known that I would gave a check or cash.

I should have looked at my receipt but I never b!tch Nick new I was bothered he would call and ask if I was mad. But I did think it was a good tune. Like some of you guy’s say I am a moron so I guess he took advantage of me. So if you want to go to Precision Dyno go a head he is at his third location since September of 2005 I bet he will be moving again by the end of the year and if you are missing parts from your cars then look what parts he is putting on other costumers cars. I had verified today that my parts were used and they are standing be hind me. Again some people looked at the tune and not one said it was great tune.

What kind of cc did you use? Visa/MC/Discover? Do you have a receipt that shows $124 cc fee?

Wow - That is quite a story. If this is true, that is very sad a company would treat a customer like this.

Now, I know there are two sides of every story, but I would hate to think that half of this is true.

But what is really sad is that stories like this are much more common on this forum.

On a side note - You got screwed - If you had told this whole story from the start, not asked for donations for a race motor, etc etc. You would have got a far more sympathetic response from this community.
