There is no fix for something that is not broken. It is a race clutch, race clutches make noise and tiltons have make noise ever since they started making them decades ago for other applications.

Tilton's product does what it advertised. It is the OBDII system that is oversensitive. If there was a way to erase the p0300 code from the DTC library, that is not Tilton's job to do. These are racecars once you have a need to move to such a clutch and need to expect drivability and side effects to weigh.

I would lean on a reflash tuner or software engineer to hack the ECU and delete this un-needed DTC code for a permanant fix.

UPDATE:

The clutch is still holding strong. I have done well over 50 launches and have never felt it slip. I have got used to all the driveability issues with the clutch. If it wasn't for the noise people who ride with me would never be able to tell I have a race clutch installed.

I have also not received ANY p0300 codes. I think the p0300 codes people experince are comming from the stupid stock MAF. It is very sensitive to vibration and noise. Apply some throttle to your car and drop the hood while at 4-5k RPM. I am willing to bet it will misfire and throw a p0300 code.

Thanks for the update Joey. That is awesome news. That is a great point... If the MAFTPro solves the P0300 codes issue, then that would be awesome. Many are going to move to it anyway, but this gives them hope that $605 + 25whp instead of $2000 AEM could solve their P0300.

5 Month UPDATE:

I have no signs of wear on the clutch. I have over 6k street miles and numerous drag launches and atleast 6 AutoX events. Also takes a ton of abuse going out for those late night Taco Bell runs

When I drop the motor into the car I will measure the thickness of the plates and report back to the boards.

Your continued supply of information about these relatively new and superior clutches is welcome here. This type of information sharing is the definition of what evolutionm.net should be.

Thanks Joey!

Well I just ordered my clutch in the last few weeks and received it today. The stainless line is still 1 solid piece that needs to be cut.

They just moved toward the change within the last 10 days or so.

Some have experienced the lack of some hardware as Tilton transitioned from one line to two and were getting used to the change in parts inventory. Anyone who was lacking fittings have been sent their hardware.

There may still be some in stock units that have the one line however.

This clutch needs two lines if I read correctly, niether of which were supplied in the initial poster's unit.

There are two ways to look at it....one, someone who buys such an extensively overkill unit (read: experience and race) would make two hydraulic units.

On the other hand, for the two lower units, both are great....and reasonably priced due to the fact that they hold the same engineering for the most part.

The carbon is expensive, just like all other C/C's....but the point at hand is...regardless of how great the unit is....it should be complete for 1700-3500 bucks. That would leave no room for complaints, aside from noisiness.....but thats just the nature of it.

Lets see how long it lasts.

I can't help but ask what you are talking about?

Two hydraulic units?

The units are all complete. The subject at hand is a matter of Tilton sending a long line and fittings to allow custom fitting of the lines or if they have 2 premade lines already with the fittings precut. They start in the $1500's.

I am not hearing any complaints about them.
