The Evo engine is small and has little low speed grunt. I also own a Subaru with a 2 liter turbo and that thing is like a mountain goat. Get my Evo on a steep trail and it is helpless. I don't know what the difference is. I guess the Evo is made to rev.

Increased cam lift will provide more power due to better breathing at high revolutions but less torque at low rpm.

If you live around steep inclines you have the wrong car.
