Last guy who posted an oil light that's " ON " at idle found out he had spun a bearing.
The hard way.

Don't want to jump into conclusions but put a mechanical oil pressure gauge and check pressure.

Any mods? If your stock have the dealer check it out for the problem.

Wow thats tough......the minimum oil pressure for the evo via the service manual is in the single digits belive it or not. The oil pressure sensor from the sensir is a single wire setup..so it will either never light up...or work as designed. Check it out thoroughly b4 you disregard it. Good luck

my car did this when i had a blown head gasket. it blew right after i installed my cams. just to gie you little back ground on it. when my car had about 5,000 miles it blew a head gasket because it overheated.(the water pump plug came out on the highway and i didnt realize it until my temp gauge was way past H). it was fixed under warranty but for some reason when i did my cams it blew again.

ok a lot of people are scaring me here.....i dont think it s rod bearing, if it was the case i should be able to hear it...i know coz it happened to my ITR and when a rod bearing is gone u can hear a loud rattle and the car loses lot s of power....and that s not the case with the evo.....the light ONLY comes on after i have driven for at least 20-30mins and the car is warm....so i hope it s just a bad sensor...
I ll stop by the dealer to get it checked out again

as for mods i have a TBE, MBC, and a reflash thats it

i think so, but wedesday, i ll check if my greddy block adaptator for my oil gauge is on tight, and i ll check the oil filter housing as well to see if the factory sensor is not clogged or something....I check the oil everyday and i am not losing oil at all.
My aftermarket oil gauge was acting up for a few days before that , then it fixed itself, and now apparently whatever was bothering the aftermarket sensor, is affecting the stock oil sensor....i ll let u guys know on wed night

and i know there is nothing mechanicly wrong with the car, it still pull like crazy and no drivabilty issues at all

Pressure check procedure

Since sealant is applied to the thread of the engine oil
pressure switch, take care not to damage the engine oil
pressure switch when removing it.
2. Use special tool MD998054 to remove the engine oil
pressure switch.
NOTE: Remove the terminal of oil pressure switch where
special tool MD998054 is not fitted.
3. Install the engine oil pressure gauge.
NOTE: Use a 1/8 pipe thread adapter.
4. Run the engine to warm it.
5. After the engine has been warmed up, check that engine oil
pressure is within the standard value.
Standard value:
At idle: 29 kPa (4.2 psi) or more
At 3,500 r/min: 294 − 686 kPa (43 − 100 psi)
6. Remove the engine oil pressure gauge.
7. Apply the specified sealant 3M AAD Part number 8672 or
equivalent to the threads of the engine oil pressure switch.
CAUTION
Do not start the engine within one hour after the engine
engine oil pressure switch has been installed.
8. Use special tool MD998054 to tighten the engine oil
pressure switch to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 19 ± 3 N⋅m (14 ± 2 ft-lb)

how are you measuring the oil? If the oil is only reaching the 1st line on the dipstick you have to little.
