There not going to make becasue the shop that was going to mount them will not CNC the parts needed to make it work. There is not enough demand for this part yea maybe 15-40 people might buy this but there not going to mass produce the parts needed to lose money on it.

Thats from the ACPT rep.

They severely underestimate demand for this part. Did they experience low demand with the STi crowd? Is that how they're forming their opinion?

I think they do as well . People would be all over this if it came out.

Last time I checked ACPT said the price (if it comes out) would be approx. $1200. Not too bad for a CF driveshaft.

I talk to the rep and that is the cost for just the shaft by itself .

Guys no matter what we do or say there are many shops that have called even AMS to get them to make this product and they wont do it. We are talking about 50-100 grand just to have the mounts mass produced. CNC is not cheep by any means.

I did talk to him about other options there are but it would mean you would have to bend a part of the underbody of the car but they cant insure its going to last becasue of the mounts they use its a risk the owner takes. And alot of people would not want to bend the underbody just to make one part fit not everyone is keeping there car for the rest of there life.

ACPT can make a custom carbon driveshaft using the yolks off an OEM driveshaft. Price is approx. $1500.

IDK , but the more I read the less I want a CF driveshaft.... I mean look how long this is taking... And still nothing at a reasonable price... And no, I know for fact I wouldn't want to mod my underbody....

Thats one of the options but if something happens to the carbon shaft you stuck with haveing to buy a new one. Which is the part that sucks.

I feel you man. But on the other hand i am keeping my car so i would do away with some underbody modding.

Like i said before there are options if you want to spend a few hunder under $2200. And sending in your oem piece to get fitted is one of them ( but the risk is there ) But the ones willing to risk it will have the payoff.

Just trying to provide some alternate options for those who want to pursue the idea.

One option is Aluminum !! I'm going to check with the DSS and see how they are coming along. I talked to the DSS shop about a year ago and they told me they were working on it back then. Oh and price they were talking was about $1k

DSS makes quality products and it should be fairly lightweight plus the obvious benifits already mentioned with CF and not as breakable.
