Question Evo Engine Management / Tuning Help!

Happy New Year to all.

Please dont tell me to use the search button because, I did for the last few days and nights.

I dont have a clue which way to go with the engine management/ tunning...
This vehicle is a daily driver, not a drag racer, being built to show, a few HPDEs and Time Attacks....

Down below are mods completed and future mods

My vehicle is registered in New York...so from what Ive been reading...

AEM/EMS is scratched off the list, because of New Yorks inspection tests.

TURBO XS UTEC I'm not sure... it sounds like exactly what i need, but from reading the forums 75% of its users are getting rid of it since there has been no upgrades for more than a year.

I see there's other options like: (which I'm still reading up on)
ECU+
AL'S FLASH TUNE
HKS FCON
MAFT PRO
WORKS BRAIN FLASH

What do you reccomend and WHY?
thanks

I run the ECU+ unit it is a very user friendly tuning tool. It does everything you need it to do and more. It has a built in GM-MAF Translator, and it also has nice features like an idle and decel stabalizer. You can read about the full fetaures of this unit at www.ECUplus.com If you need any more help feel free to PM me.

maft pro is like the new cool thing, they're picking up lots of features but maybe in its current form it's not as complete as say ecu+, however it will be. so it depends on when you wanna slap all this together.

ECU+ is also constantly adding features as well. And there are plenty that are going to be added in the near future as well. A few things that were recently introduced for the ECU+ are EGT logging and full OBDII integration as well as. This is an exciting product that will continue to grow and make it the most advanced "piggyback" controller on the market.

I would go with an AEM-and get your ecu flashed(ecutek) for emissions( if you can pass anyway) Also why not ask ISP?
Man you have quiet a few works parts why not call them?

The MAP ECU looks to be similiar to the MAF-T Pro, with less features. It is important to decide whether you want to stay with a MAF sensor system or switch to a MAP system. I am not going to start an argument and state my preferernce or explain pros vs. cons of both. Anyhow if you are looking for a powerful, user friendly, feature packed, Plug N' Play MAF based piggyback system then I believe that the ECU+ is the best out there.

well we used it on plenty of others cars like my friend above has metioned. i jus want to see what it can for the evo since i think ill be one of the first to play with it on my car. i jus like going with somethjing of this nature map ecu, maft pro, etc instead of full out standalones. i like driving my car everyday and its not a full race car which is what standalones are really made for. well see how things go. i might just get the maft pro and put them against each other and see what the out comes are. jus for thepurpose to see what both can do for our community.

I hug my ECU Plus nightly.

It's constantly being updated. It has GREAT logging features, a great interface for logging, etc. A street dyno function which is very accurate if you use it right, plus many many other things.

The ability to mess with adding or subtracting timing was a godsend for me to get a knock free tune on 91 octane cali **** gas.

You can also use a laptop or a palm pilot for tuning and logging. Tom just recently made map switching via the palm pilot as well. (it's been there for the laptop)

truthfully it usealy best to leave timing where it is. Is messing with timing and get a few hp more worth your block popping. not to me. like i said map ecu is for people that want there car as a daily driver not a race car. i mean weve built countless amount of car making over 600 whp just using map ecu. but each to his own.
