David, what cam gear settings are you running for the revolver cams? I have mine set to -3/I and -3/E which seems to pull pretty strong up top. I'm curious as to what other people are having good results with.

If anyone would bother looking around, you would know that the rest of the world pretty much thinks hks cams are garbage. Try asking about them on one of the uk forums and they pretty much just laugh at you.

Before anyone says it I know, some of you are tired of hearing my numbers and want to see what is going to happen on a more stock EVO. Well, I don't have those numbers yet so you will have to live with more from my own car.

Last time I left off my RS had made 386 whp and 393 ft lbs of torque. This was a race gas with 28 psi of boost.

I wanted to try some new cams in the car. I bought a set of the Revolver's to try out.

We put the cams in yesterday and this morning I threw it on the dyno. It takes some work to get these to idle, they are MUCH more aggressive than the HKS 280's I had. The car sounds like nothing I have ever heard at idle. It's nasty.

To make a long story short. I made about 25 dyno pulls today. All on race gas. The performance is astounding. I let the boost hit 30 psi at about 4000 rpm and then let it fall down from there. I did not attempt to hold 30 psi out to redline although I am sure the car will. I actually let it taper off to about 26 psi.

By the afternoon the car gained 17 whp. Not bad considering what I changed from was already pretty aggressive. Here is the kicker, the car gained 50.9 ft lbs of torque!! Now that is freaking amazing. Granted, I had another 2 psi of boost which will account for some of that but 50 ft lbs is nuts.

These passes were very-very consistent. When I stopped experimenting with some things the torque stayed over 440 ft lbs and the HP was over 400 every pass.

I even set the car up on the rich side and ran it between 11.0 and 11.2:1 and made 401 ft lbs and 437 ft lbs.

I am absolutely amazed. This car is going to be a freaking handful on the street.

Check out this dyno chart:

Thanks Dave and the BR crew for giving us a fair shake.

Thumbs up

pretty strong #'s. i imagine that if you tried some Tomei 280 cams with 11.8 lift, your results would be even better. Good work as always & this once again shows people you don't have to buy a "turbo kit" to go fast...
