I think from what David has posted before, it does NOT come with the gaskets because it uses the same gaskets the stock 16g would. Here is a picture from his website of what is included in the kit:

My impression is that the oil/coolant lines change and the turbo outlet pipe to the intercooler is changed so he includeds what changes from the EVO8 to EVO9 turbo.

Help at all?

I understand this perfectly, my quesion is a little more specific to what they are "actually" doing. What about the hotside wheel and the rest of the journal? Are they just switching compressor wheels or the whole center journal of the turbo? If they are just switching out the wheel then what about an abused turbo that is boarderline from having too much shaft play. I send in an almost perfect turbo and someone else sends in a abused one? And this turbo is then upgraded and sold to me or another customer. What happens 10,000 or even 5,000 miles down road and it goes boom? What is Dave going to do about that? Do you guys see where I am coming from?

I see exactly where you are coming from.. that's why I think calling and talking to Dave personally might be a better option. IT keeps these threads from getting junked up and you get your answer.

I know Dave will back up anything he builds.. that would be a non-issues for me.

i think your point applies to any purchase that requires some type of core exchange. it should be within your rights to ask for your core to be upgraded and returned to you. mind you that this may increase turn around, but at least you don't have to guess whether or not failure was due to an old part. some people even go as far as marking their cores (heads, blocks, turbos etc) before submitting them, so they know when it is returned. i'm sure buschur will accomodate your request.

OK Guys,

Just got off the phone with Nick from Buschur. He answered my question.

What he said is that the whole journal gets new bearing/compressor wheel and all. He referred to it as a "like a brand new turbo" but using the core as a starting point. So I said what happens 10,000 miles down the road and it goes boom? He said Buschur will stand behind any product if they created the problem then it is fixed no problem. If the turbo was abused (the turbo company researches this) then it is not covered.

Sorry about posting so much crap on here but some people just post to try and prove people wrong or say they don't do their research. Although sometimes that is the case. I was trying to save myself from calling Buschur and bothering them with less important stuff if someone already knew this or already called about the same issue.

Does everyone understand what I have just posted so anyone else wondering what I am get their question answered?

evo8ltw,

Interesting question. I didn't actually look. I did go pull up some datalogs for you though

On the 280's the car had about 8.4" of vacuum. With these Revolvers it had around 6.5".

evo8ltw,

You know you made me think. I don't know that we can use those numbers though. I have been messing with the EMS more and more deeply and have found ways to increase the idle vacuum for better idle and leaner AFR's at idle. I know I did this with the HKS 280's in the car but thinking about it now I don't know if I changed that portion of the program when I installed the Revolvers.

blue evo8. What are you measuring this on? A boost guage? If so it is not as accurate. I am using the EMS. That is a LOT of vaccum for even stock cams.

I measure this with the HKS EVC 5 EBC's display. i am aware it may not be accurate though.

I also have the AEM EMS on my car but havent plugged into it since I got tuned.
