Sorry I didn't read the entire thread but I had a question about the 20g-9.
What is the stock IX 16g compressor wheel rated at?
What is the compressor rated at on the 20g-9?
The 20g on my sti is rated at 44.5 lbs/min, is it the same for the 20g-9? or does it flow more? sorry if this has been asked and answered before.

We installed a 20g-9 on my car on saturday, my car is now a stage 4 with this turbo, 280 cams, and a race front mount. Al will be tunning the car this week. The head is stock and so is the block. Going to do a dual flash-pump gas and race gas(110 octane). Looking forward to seeing some great numbers...

One more quick question for you Dave. Off topic but I need some clarification. I have a almost brand new '05 turbo of my EVO 8 MR, 3,000 miles on it.

If I send this in to you, and you modify it. Will I get the exact turbo I sent you modified to the EVO 9 turbo then upgraded with the 20g wheel? Or will I get a random one that is modified and sent back to me?

Just wondering. Cause what if I get a turbo that had a lot more miles on it than mine had on it before the conversion and was not as in good condition as mine? And it fails on me 20,000 miles down the road?

Power difference between the EVO8 and EVO9 20G's is minimal, the only difference is the EVO9 turbo doesn't surge.

No problems running alcohol, the turbo doesn't care what you run through it.

$950 to convert your EVO8 to a EVO9 yes. The 10.5 housing is $250, correct. Seems like you just repeated what I wrote

The turbo gets rebuilt. No you do not get your turbo back.

The turbine housing is NOT included with this. You will be using whatever you have for a turbine housing now or you will have to buy a new 10.5 housing.

My car is at 388 whp and 393 ft lbs on race gas with this turbo on our dyno.

So I could have had my 2003 turbo modified into a IX turbo? I thought they were completely different turbos? I just ordered the IX without the core.

Zeus,

That still does not answer my question. I understood that part of it. I want to know what happens if I get a turbo that is used more heavily than mine and it dyes down the road...20,000 miles or so later. Like I said I did my research and I followed both David's posts. I want to know what Dave is going to do about people sending in boardline turbo's and people that send it excellant condition turbo's I would not be happy in that situation. Get where I am coming from?

Any comments on this Dave?

What are you talking about, you send them the turbo, they keep the hotside, replace the compressor with the evo9 cover, and install a 20g wheel. What don't you understand about this!?
