o2 housing

How many of you have the ebay o2 housing? Has anyone has their o2 housing crack using an aftermarket manifold?? Im about to buy one and want to find out how many ppl has had it crack since ppl say it will crack due to not having the support bracket..

it cracks when you switch to a different manifold, the stocker should do just fine. You can also coat it for that extra piece of mind and velocity.

I had the same concern, so i picked up another oem EM to get ported/polished to go along with my helix o2 housing... i think this is generally regarded as the best bet.

If the rest of the exhaust is supported well and isn't too heavy I can't really imagine those things breaking or cracking.

I just can't understand the gains from them, at least on the WG port. Think about it, when the WG is fully opened (WOT) the exhaust gasses squeeze through two ports the size of my ring finger and I dont see the benifit of the extra sized housing at this point immediatly afterwards and at those temperatures. Maybe on the other port but not the WG side.

Esp if you are running the OE manifold, you will be fine... One of my past customers is over 2 yrs with no issues.

i am goin to be installing an aftermarket manifold myself which will be paired with a 6.5 TME and was thinking of the ebay O2 housing but now that i read this im rethinking my plan...is this specifically for the ebay one or does it apply to all aftermarket O2 housings and what causes them to crack with aftermarket manifolds?

I have yet to see ANY crack, not tubular manifold, not O2 housing, nothing!

I wonder where these rumors ever start from.

We are bumping 280/280's on stiff motor mounts and tubular manifold and O2. No problems whatsoever.

All of them bc none of them have the support bracket like the OEM EXCEPT the Works o2 housing but it can only be used with their downpipe..

I have seen a large number of tubular manifold break, fail or crack, a large number.

The 02 housings for the EVO's I haven't seen or heard of one breaking yet, regardless of who made it.

The biggest stress that is on the header/02 housing is from the engine being able to move so much back and forth from weak motor mounts. The movement that the EVO engine has on the stock mounts is a problem for a lot of things.

The BR or our Powerflex motormounts would solve that potential issue quickly for about $50.

The megan manifolds we sell have a 1yr replacement warranty from cracks. Again, TTP has not seen any. I am not sure of the manufacturer of manifolds Dave is speaking of. It may be a few.
