Electronic Boost Controller
Electronic Boost Controller
Hi guys, I am an Evo Enthutiast based in Surabaya, Indonesia.
I really need your help guys.
I just bought a used stock EVO7, And I want to start to modify it with Electronic Boost Controller.
Which one should I get, the HKS EVC ot the Greddy Profec O-1.
Do you guys know what is the factory boost setting for the stock turbo(bars)?? What what is the maximum bars that I can set up for this stock turbo from the boost controller?? Does Boost controller will likely create any problem if they are malfunction(Stall, etc)??
Thank you so much guys

Hi
Stock boost on the 7 is about 1.2 bars.
The maximum you CAN set is about 2 bars, but that would blow up your engine. Dont go over 1.5 - 1.6 bars. Make sure you check the fuelling is right, though.
I like the APEX'i AVC-R because it is rpm mappable.
A boost controller will not cause idle instability or stalling. A VTA BOV will though.
