HELP! engine trouble

hello, i have a problem and was looking for some assistance

i have an 05 MR, and recently i put a 3" dc sports downpipe on it. also have an aem intake, greddy ti 80mm exhaust and that is pretty much it.

anyway, i hooked up a safc and it was pretuned but mildly. ran pretty good with just the dp, put the safc on and it began bogging when getting on it hard after a couple of days. so, i took the afc back out and it didn't change anything. still getting some bogging.

i haven't been hearing the bov pop like it was, finally did once last night.

it is possible the bov is screwed up, is that common? i don't have a boost controller installed (yet, have one just haven't put it in yet) and it does show boost on the fact gage.

anyway, not sure what else to look for, if the ic pipe had come loose it wouldn't show boost at all right?

what else should i look for? i have a fuel pump but dont think that would be the problem...

oh, and there are only 1200 miles on it so i wouldn't think it would be anything major.

one other thing did happen which makes me think it might be the bov, the other day when i had it out i got on it hard and let of at about 5500 in 3rd, but the rpms didn't come down. i didn't get a look at the boost gage (with it's wonderful factory location) so i am not sure if there was still pressure being forced in the tb causing it to rev or not?

any ideas?

Ma i used to use the safc and it always worked fine...you need to check your connections, and mainly the settings...if you PM me i can tell you the settings i use for comparison...

it was already tuned by ams for a similar set up. i tried it out and watched the knock to make sure it seemed to be ok. drove on it for a couple of days and then pulled it out when the problem developed. it is not on the car right now.

is there a problem with the factory bov screwing up?
the car is not throwing any codes either.
the car just seems to fall on its face unless i drive it "normal"

i did find a loose clamp on the intake, tightened it up and it seemed to help a little. think i will get some plugs this week and try it again. if i go 1/2 or 3/4 throttle it pulled all the way to redline in 3rd gear.

also, i watched the boost gage a little better and it is stabbing the 1.5 pretty quick. is the stock wastegate pretty crappy or will it allow a little creep when removing the cat?

if it does than i guess my best resolution would be the plugs. just didn't think with this few a mods that plugs would be such an issue

ok got the plugs in, just regular ngk 8's (didn't realize that they came with iridium ngk plugs from the factory!) also installed the fuel pump

when i left it seemed better, no hesitation or misfire, but when i went wot in 3rd gear it cut out at 6000 rpms like it was hitting the rev limiter?????

are the factory tachs that slow at keeping up with engine rpm? or is there something else i should be looking for?

It seems like you are hitting fuel cut for some reason. I would suggest taking off the AEM intake and putting your stock intake back on, the problem with most aftermarket intakes is it messes up you MAF readings. Check to see if that fixes it.

either it's a loose connection or you are running rich, or even your spark plugs

it was find on both the 8 and my mr until i put the down pipe on.

i took it out again last night with a friend in it, and of course it didn't do it?

don't know, will have to experiment some more????

i did change the plugs last night vboy, it did one time right after the car got warmed up - then didn't do it any more.

come to think of it, it really hasn't done this at all before the weather had a cold snap (i usually don't drive the car - had it for 1.5 years and it has just under 1200 miles on it)
