thinking of switching up dealers

I went to tustin mitsubishi and got an 03 VIII with about 30k on it. I bought it only if they agreed to hold my money until i took it to a 3rd party to inspect the car, and if they found it faulty, I could return the car and get a refund. I took it to road race and had them do a quick check on it see what they thought, and if they saw any problems. He said the MBC was hooked up backwards and that the tranny was rebuilt because there was red silicone or something not grey. Said it has PIT inscribed on the head meaning it was from a pit stop or junk yard i guess. There were a few exhaust leaks (turbo>DP, WG> dump tube, Mani>turbo), so everywhere. The tires were bald in the back inside. There was also a hanger was broken off from my exhaust. Aparently he had an ems or something to that degree And removed it from the car, because of the cut map sensor plugs, intake air temp plug, and something with the coil pack. stock injectors, big turbo, clutch, all the upgraded stock essentials. No reflash and nothing controlling my fuel or boost(really). I purchased it for $26,9 plus all the other fees on top of that. I'm pretty sure this car has been romped the hell in and I don't want to buy a car im going to have to fix... i want funds into new things not into replacing things. But do these sound like severe warning signs to anyone or do you think that it will just need some lovin. I have till friday to turn it back to them, but i am definitely bummed the dealer lied about the cams and sold me a car in such poor condition. I hear south coast is a good dealer and has good prices. So i think i might take a look there. We'll see if tustin can keep my business...

You didnt say what turbo it has. Looks like it might be better to get it back since tranny and Head are very expensive to fix. if they been abused. Also the price for 03 evo is too high. I'll sell you mine in perfect shape for that much that has built engine and all other stuff. (goodluck)

Find a bank that will finance the car. If you've been dealing with a bank for a while they usually will finance the vehicle if you have decent credit. Your bank will probably give you a better interest rate anyways. If you have ANY doubts DON'T buy the car or sign ANYTHING at the dealership. They are only responsible to disclose information about the vehicle state like if it's been wreaked, stolen, rent a car'd . They can and will sell you a POS that is about to break down and/or engine fail. That's why i'm not in the car business anymore.

$26,900 for an 03??? You crazy or what. South Coast is selling IX RS's for a grand less than than and regular IX's for less than 2 grand more than that. Why on earth would you go buy used?

I loved the car, and it apparently had been completly built up and boosted, but to my dismay, it is a junker that I was suckered in to looking at. I went to south coast today and talked to a few people and I will be taking my car back today and be looking to purchase from south coast. I really don't want to buy new though because straight off the lot it loses lots of value.

It's better to buy something new and have the warranty and fresh miles then to have something thats already been re-built from being abused. In the long run it will save you money. Goodluck with your purchase.
