ACT flywheels are about $269 shipped, Fidanzas a bit more - but they have replaceable contact surfaces and are reuseable on future clutches.

I have a used HDSS and Fidanza in on the shelf right now if you are interested in a cost effective upgrade. I have ordered a new face for the Fidanza already.

Damn dude.. Im only 19 and i got my IX about 5 months ago. I pay for it myself and I am a technician for chevrolet. Im gonna tell you something. I make damn good money and it takes everything i have got to pay for my evo. I to have almost torched my clutch with only 6k miles. And i am man enough to say its probably because I have been racing a IX with TBE, Forge, HKS RS, and custom dynoflash. But I just installed a ACT Heavy duty street clutch and ACT flywheel and it aint an EXEDY of course. But it is way better than stock and has already taken some beatings. I honestly think that you should be glad you have a evo at only 19 and don't have to pay for it. I can also say that even thought i am waisting tons of money on insurance being im only 19 with a brand new 35,000 dollar car, I haven't regretted a thing about it. It's a race car man. You are gonna break stuff and have to replace things thats what happens when you modify your car.

wow would have swore im of the few lucky 19 yearolds with a IX. I have to pay for all my mods and maintence, but its not bad i geuss i payed for my car with cash on the spot. The stock clutches on these things dont last long if you drive them the way we all do, THE WAY THERE MENT TO BE DRIVEN, hard. I have fun with mine and paying for my exedy ill be getting before long will be well worth it.

my stock clutch went out at 3k miles.... i now have the exedy cerametallic 4 puck that after less than a year is slipping really bad.... i'm thinking act now (the 6 puck cerametallic)... is that going to hold better than the exedy?? is twin plate seriously the only way to go to have the clutch last longer than a year?? personally i don't care how rough the ride is, though my evo is my dd, i just want something to last...
sorry for the partial thread jack, i'm trying to stay on topic and give and receive a little info...
