Just installed Vishniu Stage O Mods!
It sounds pretty mellow, but yet still aggressive
. Shouldn't attract too much attention. I'm unsure as to how well the 97 octane map will work with 94/95
. You might be ok if you turn down the boost a bit just to be on the safe side. I hope to go back soon for some further tuning for a couple more maps. I want a 94 map as well as a full 100 octane map. Switching maps currently requires a lap top, but they have something in the works that will make it easier for the use to select maps.

Driving the car is a completely different experience with the 97 octane map. The car is much more responsive and pulls HARD all the way to redline. Matter of fact it made it's peak 240hp at 6600 rpm, torque is way up as well. I'm going to revert back to the 91 map tomorrow and put some more miles on it to see how it feels.
I know a lot of you guys like the power potential of the car, etc. Keep in mind though this car wasn't designed to be some 1/4 mile monster. Although fast, it's best driven in turns
Keep up the good work Shiv, and thanks again!

Oh yeah, how does one change the maps or programs for the diffent octane grades? Here we have 93 octane gas, I would not be interested in maps for 91 octane oxigenated gasoline, but I would like the option to use higher octane gas such as the racing gasoline they sell at the dragstrip.
Thanks,
Manuel
Anybody with Vishnu Stage 0 run the quarter mile? Just curious how it compares to the other "stage x packages" other companies are releasing. I personally like that Vishnu's is only a cat-back and piggy-back (haha and horse-back and cow-back and...), getting gains w/o even delving into the engine hardware... Keep us posted Shiv, especially if you get some dragstrip numbers!

Mods consisted of cat. back exhaust and tuned XEDE piggy back.
The car feels much better and more like it should now - pulling strongly to 7000; it does not feel like it drops off like it did before.
BTW mine is the silver one shown on the dyno on Shivs web site. I think mine was about the 6th to be base-line dyno tested a while back.
Looking forward to more mods; will post them as they take place.
I wish you all could have been there watching Shiv tune the XEDE on the dyno. Can't tell you much (I'll let Shiv do that) but there will be some interesting things come out about upgrade path, the factory ECU and intelligent mods for the Evo VIII in due time!

I'm surprised the thread just stopped in this forum, you'd think more people would be interested in these types of mods. I think the WRX people seem to know a lot more about the possible improvements to their cars than the EVO crowd. I guess there are fewer EVOs out so far and there has not been as much R&D done with our cars in mind.....
Any more news to report???
ANy word on how long till us outsiders can get stage 0, I am in MO and it will not be possible to come to your shop. If available soon will the average mechanic be able to install this stuff. I have NO speed shops around me so I will be on my own with just normal mechanics thanks sano

Or if you're willing to take a drive, head up to Chicago to AutoMotoSports (http://www.automotosports.com) one of the best
tuners around.

Excuse the time delay of this response from the original posts. Nonetheless, I still feel compelled to post it.
Doesn't seem like a given to me. Driver skill and track conditions could easily account for the .33 difference in this example. The stock EVO had a faster trap speed!

eric replied - Ya, but a WRX with stage 0 is faster the a stock evo.

Have you done any test runs with the XEDE piggy back and stock exhaust?
Is there any speed shops in Houston or Dallas Tx. that will be carrying your product?
And if no speed shops will be carrying them, will the average mechanic be able to install.
Any word on how long till we can order the stage 0 via mail order?

I'm looking for a few significant mods I can do to my car, but I'm not interested in a shotgun approach or just bolting on crap for the hell of it. Frankly, what turns me off the most is what they seem to sell the most: flash, trash, blinkig lights and such..... Good grief, I wish they made stuff that would fit in unobtrusively and not too visibly. I prefer the clean and stealth type of mod. I don't want to call attention to the car of thieves, cops or ovezelaous techs at the dealer

Hi guys,
Currently, our Stage Zero kit is only available for those who are willing to drive to our shop for installation and dyno verification. And that's only if they pass a few pre-tune diagnostic tests to ensure the integrity of their motor. There does appear to be issues with at least some of the stock motors we have been testing. Not until we get to the bottom of the situation will be be offering our kits via mailorder. While putting go-fast parts of weak motors will make them stonger, it's better for solve the underlying problem (if there is on) first.
Just my 2c,
Shiv

Shiv, can you elaborate on some of these issues you're seeing with stock motors?
