Am getting stroker. Do I need tune/injectors for it?

I spun a bearing,(stock bottom end Evo8) and am getting the AMS stroker kit. Will I now need larger injectors? More air needs more fuel? and will I have to re-dyno the car for the same reasons?? Thanks for the input, and help once again. Mods in signature.

yes I know for a fact you will need larger injectors. the stock one's will only work with wastegate pressure 11 psi. you will hit fuel cut as soon as you hit the gas.

You've completely changed the engines volumetric efficiency, you will definitely need a retune, and probably need bigger injectors since you've increased displacement by at least 30%

Just to let you know I was in the same situation. After break-in I took it to get tuned and forgot to replace the injectors with the 780cc that I bought. Everyone that I spoke with told me that I didn't need injectors and that the stockers would be fine.

Well, they were wrong! At 18-19psi I was running ~95% IDC on the stock turbo. After swapping in the 780cc I was at 50-60% accros the board.

As for adjusting the tune, the XEDE should be able to scale for larger injectors correct?

THanks for the tip on the size injectors. Yes the Xede can scale larger injectors!! Thanks for the response!

Actually, larger injectors are compensated with a reflash of the ECU, not with the Xede.

Why dont you come up here and cut my lawn, and I will think about it!! So I can take my ECU up to AMS, and have them flash it for my mods, and that should be "close" in the tune department, to drive the car for the break-in, then have them "dial it in" on the dyno correct? I mean, I can disconnect the Xede, and run this "new" setup on the AMS ECU flash only?? Would that control my meth also? I am getting confused!!

Here's to hoping that you have better luck than me with the XEDE running larger injectors.

There should be no "break-in" for your engine beyond letting it run for 15-30 minutes and doing a few dyno pulls to verify everything is good. It is highly doubtful that the engine will display different operating characteristics after 500 miles as opposed to the above break-in.

Cool!! Maybe I can leave the car there, and let them idle it, and tune it. What size injectors did you go with, should I go with???
