When am I going to max out the potential of my IX's turbo??

100% of the time, when someone on this forum talks about adding alky, it means they are going to be tuned for it and turn up the boost. If you think otherwise, you are just trying to start an argument.

They basically modded everything else but the turbo. Their bill is waaay into the 5-10k mark and you could get those times cheaper with a upgraded turbo kit.

But I agree with Skillmatic. I think you'd be happier putting that money into a 50 trim or small GT series upgrade.

[QUOTE=SKILMATIC]here ya go dude
You also agreed with him here and he mentioned 28psi and he went on to claim that people have been in the 10's on the stocker which is also false.
it is my understanding that curt brown ran a 10 on the stocker,albeit it probably had a ported mani as well as many other tricks and was on a fully built motor
And he isnt on low boost he is on 22-23psi already. Low boost is consider stock or lower than stock. Also it is feasable to get around 400whp with all those mods with 25psi with a good tune on race gas. That isnt the argument though.
actually it is the argument...the op stated he was making 360whp and was going to add alky and an o2 and headstuds...then asked if 400whp would be possible..you went on about how headstuds add nothing in power(true) and the o2 was the only thing that would make a difference...well i have yet to see any person add alky w/o raising the boost level,so it seems as though added boost along with an o2 may push power close to 400whp...even if the turbo is out of its range
For some apparent reason you think you can boost a stock turbo to any amount of psi because YOU havent seen a blown turbo.
again not what i meant...i hardly think raising boost(on the stock turbo) to 26-27 lbs is going outside the realm of the norm on race gas and i have never seen a stock evo8 turbo blow at those moderate levels...mayeb some have but i have yet to see them and the ones that have blown may have had manufacturing defects...who knows....all i know is that alot of guys that tune evo's for a living regularly will surpass stock boost levels...shiv tuned mine for the 26lb spike and im pretty sure he wouldnt tune it to that level if their was as much risk involved as you try and make it seem

Now with the addition to those mods and with a great tune by Al @ 25psi on race gas you would see close to 400whp. MAYBE
