Racing Harnesses for Stock Seats
Anyone install racing harnesses for their stock seats yet? I plan to buy the Sparco 4pt harness soon, but I just wanna make sure of a couple of things:
*Do you need to buy the hardware kits that are sold seperately?
*What's the difference between snap-on and bolt-on?
*And how can I incorporate the OEM buckles somehow so that I won't have that annoying seat belt light on if I don't use the factory seat belts?
I never had racing harnesses in my car before, so I'm a newb to this sorta. Like to hear from people about your opinions and know-how. Even better, if you have pics of your installation, please post it. Thanks.

just my opinion - racing harnesses look stupid except on a real race car....especially if you don't have a rollcage....you neck will be el-snappo if you roll...
Leave the harnesses for real race cars on the track....you'll just look like a ricer...auto-x doesn't even allow harnesses unless you have a cage.

Racing harnesses are dangerous to use on a street car that doesn't have a cage/rollbar. In the event of a rollover, if the roof caves in you won't be able to move and chances are your spine will be crushed.

Thanks for the inputs Mega and KK... making me think twice... I actually had some doubts about getting them before, but I was just seeing what other people thought. Besides... I don't want to look ricey, lolz!

Either way, using racing harnesses on the streets is not a smart move.
1. You will get injured if the car rolls.
2. You will not move enough forward in a frontal impact to allow the airbags to do their jobs.
3. You will not be able to reach any of your radio or HVAC controls if you are harnessed in correctly with a 4-5 point belt.
4. Its against the law in almost every state to use harnesses on the streets.
