10.5 hotside porting?
Was thinking of getting my hotside ported.... What kind of whp gains can be attained? Is it only for spool up? Need some feedback!

I think that it will give you maybe 20-30 whp. I am not sure though. If you think about it, porting the hot side is going to make the exhaust flow a lot easier and better. I am by no means a pro but that is the only logic that I can make out of it. If you do decide to do it let us all know what the outcome is. Good Luck.

Porting it will do nothing for spool up. Your opening it up. When you open something up your increasing it's flow which improves top end. This is why people upgrade from the 9.8 to the 10.5, open it up; more top end power, but at the sacrifice of spool up and even that will be minimal from a port job.
The gains will be minimal as well, but while it's off you might as well. The motor will always perform better the easier it breathes.

yeah I lost money on parts/porting/shipping/handling
but I gained some of it back when I sold them parts and upgraded my turbo
anyhow I gained some knowledge....and I wish I had listened to the guys at TurboTrix who advised me against doing these mods
I realize that this is a really dumb question....but why doesn't anyone port the 9.8 hotsides. If the 10.5 can be improved via porting....then why can't the 9.8 benefit from the same treatment?
If thats the only mod you are doing then you will gain hardly any. People have actually put the entire evo 9 turbo on their 8 and dynoed with very little gains if any. Alfred at tuning tech just did a dyno for a 8 customer then put the 9 turbo on it then dynoed it again and gained maybe like 3whp. From what I hear its all in the mivec. So if you expect to make big hp dont get your hopes up.
