normal driving ?

at what RPMs do you guys recommend switching at when daily driving? im not sure if switching too low is bad for the engine or whatever but im sure you guys all would know the answer. i switch at about 3-3.5k , would u guys recommend switching at a higher RPM when commuting , or does that sound fine to you guys?

Read the service manual. It tells you in there when to shift for the best gas mileage. With my GSR i shift at around 3k or jus a little less. The 6 speed may be different due to the change in gear ratios.

Normal driving? Listen - did you by an Evo for its MPG? No.

Shifting too low bad for engine?...geez, yep if you shift at lower than 3k it goes boom!

Shift whenever. You want to go to 7k then shift, go ahead.

This thread is pointless. No, I havent had my afternoon coffee, and its a currently a blizzard outside.

I usually shift a little lower than 3k in 1st, and then at 3k in every other gear. I am so slow in my driving style that I am sure people get annoyed by me.

i shift between 2.5-3k rpm. if the engine is cold then i will drop my shift points a little lower

i try to shift before or at 3k so i stay out of peak boost area (3500rpm)

i shift between 2.5-3.5k...especially when cold...and in extreme situations like pulling out in traffic etc. i shift at about 3.5-4.5k....there really is no need to shift at higher rpms...max torque is at 3.5k
higher rpms will just rag your car out faster....if you bought the evo and you're racing in events all of the time then go for it
