fuel pump stock or not?

fuel pump stock or not?

i purchased a used evo that has been modded in the past and im not sure how for they went. how can i tell if the fuel pump is the stock one or a walbro. thanks for any advice you can give me

take off your back seat, and have a looksie. Bolsen has a great how-to for installing it, just follow the directions up to the point where you access it and youre golden

Or listen to it, see if you can hear it buzzing ... you usually can hear Walbro pumps.

useally if you hear a high pitch whine, then most likely. If in doubt check it

Open it up and look for an army green fuel pump that says Denso on it.


edit: that would be the stock pump.^^^

ok i have the car tore down doing other mods and i cant turn the ignition on so if i take it out and look at it does it clearly say walbro on it or are there other thing to look for? thanks for your replies

i had the same thing. but mine wines really loud so i know its walbro. and i went to the local mitsu and found out who owned it befor me and i contacted him and he told me what was on it and what still is. so if it wines then its probably a walbro

Not all after market pumps make noise. Open it up and see what you have.

i cant remember if it wined loud or not because i didnt pay attention to it. since i have it tore down i cant listen to it but i wanted to replace it now if i know it is stock. anyone have any pics of a stock pump compared to a walbro?

Yes it does I just pulled mine out today,I put the buschur high flow in today.
I have the old upgraded pump in front of me and it says,Walbro gss342
it has pat# and made in usa also hope that helps.
