No, it doesn't; it works great if you use it properly. We have solved this same problem for 1000 other noobs who bought used, previously-modded Evos. You need an MBC or purchase the stock OEM boost lines from Mitsubishiparts.net.

well it doesnt help I don't have the stock hood so I don't have the vacuum diagram to check the lines but I'll continue to search and reads pages and pages of results with practically no help for my situation.

Thanks for the replies

No help my ***. Look for all the threads talking about 11psi or 12psi. 99% sure you don't need to see a diagram. This happens all the time where people mod their car, then put it back to "stock" but have no clue WTF they're doing and end up using non-OEM hoses for the stock boost system. When someone does that, you only see base wastegate pressure, which is 11-12psi, so you either need a device to manually control the boost or purchase the stock boost lines for $15. Very simple...

No, it's not the boost gauge installation. It wouldn't randomly read base wastegate pressure just because it's installed wrongly.

you must use OEM lines.
You can get them from mitsubishparts.net for about $25 shipeed.

Here is the part no. MN143555.
It comes with everything you need.
The hose has a T connector. One for the wastegate and one for the turbo outlet.
It's a real simple install but a ***** to do.
Get ready to get some of your knuckles all busted up....

No problem.

I would strongly recommend you use some type of a glove (mechanic's glove) if you don't want to get your knuckles all bloody.
Once you try to take everything out to put the hose on you'll know what I am talking about.
There is very little room down there.

It's not a problem if you just remove the radiator fan. I do this each time, which makes it a breeze.
