lol warralontish, i like that, no its all good, it wud make no sense if i eventually was goin for say 500 hp but my goal is just 300-320 whp

150$ for the kit not bad at all, i wonder if i can find an ix turbo that some1 is trying to sell on here for cheaper, but then again i never ever trust a used turbo

get your exhaust and dont upgrade your turbo. take the money that you were going to use to upgrade your turbo and buy cams and tune it again and turn up your boost a little bit and you should make your desired whp.

The IX intake housing is bigger and the compressor wheel are magnesium.

For more info, contact Gruppe-S. They installed it on one of the customers car. Give them a ring.

the compressor wheel is not magnesium. its the same as the evo 8 one. the only difference is that the compressor housing is bigger on the 9.
i am opening up an evo 9 turbo tomorrow and will compare it to the evo 8 one in my car.

GPtourer, search around - several have added a IX to an 05 and made 20whp or so, verified by dynos and track improvements.

Rcheung, the turbine housing is not bigger, just the compressor housing. The 10.5 you mention IS the turbine housing - 06s have the same 10.5 turbine housing as the 05s.

OP, you can easily make that small amount of power with your stock turbo - no need to upgrade. In fact, you can make far more power than that easily without touching your turbo.

No magnesium internals - that is false unless referring to a JDM version.

Like others have said, there are many mods you can do before you upgrade your turbo...alky alone will net you over 20whp...
