its a direct swap plus you have to buy other lines to make the switch. and the evo 9 turbo is better because it already comes with the 10.5 hotside and the evo 8 has the 9.8. it also has been pruven that the evo 9 turbo makes more horsepower then the evo 8 turbo.

The 03-04 turbos came with a 9.8 hotside. O5 evos came with the 10.5 hotside. The IX turbo is equivalent to the 05 turbo in size except it has a bigger turbine housing.

well since its made by Mitsu, for Mitsu i'd go out on a limb here and say its a direct bolt on... you'll just need to order the oil line kit from a performance shop or bend your lines. the Evo IX turbo has been "revised" for better performance. most people with miminal mods are swapping out the turbo and seeing a gain of 20 whp with less than stock spool.

imho, definately not worth the money unless you plan on never upgrading to a bigger turbo than that.

$700 for a new turbo...
$270 for the install kit...
$xxx for installation if you dont do it yourself...

I'm sorry but how do you see that as being worth it? Do you plan on stopping at that turbo? If you ever intend on getting a bigger turbo thats 700 bucks that can go toward it. Spend the money on cams or other supporting mods.
