There really isn't a whole lot of difference between the 03 VIII turbo and the IX turbo. Yes it makes a tiny bit more power. Yes it spools up a little better. I wouldn't go as far as calling the IX turbo an "upgrade". A ball bearing 50 trim or Forced Performance Evo Green will yield much better power gains than the IX turbo while retaining good midrange power.

That's false - the IX is more than a "tiny bit better" than an 03 turbo.

Of course those turbos will make more power, they are not stock turbos, but the IX is still a very good upgrade for an VIII.

I bought my IX turbo used for about $550 and sold the 10.5 off of it for $200. My install kit was called bending the hard lines by hand. I gained 17whp and 5 or so wtq and my car had/has issues. Good deal if you axe me...

Depending on how much money you can get the IX turbo for, it might be worth it. In my opinion I rather not waste my time and money installing a basically identical turbo. 17 whp? I wouldn't consider that a worthwhile mod when you could have put that money towards a FP evo green (extra 40-50whp) or a 50 trim. I'm not trying to bad mouth the IX turbo. It is undeniably is a better turbo than the 03 turbo, but the increase in performance is minuscule.

It costs 1700.

I'm getting a used IX for $450, then selling my VIII for not much less.

The 20G and the Buschur/FP green are basically the same thing. I believe the FP Green is just an upgraded 20G turbo.

bought the evo 9 turbo with O2 sensor/lines/outlet pipe for $430 shipped. Sold my evo 8 turbo with lines and 9.8 hotside for an amazing $380 shipped.
this was my 4th attempt on getting an evo 9 turbo, and it still didn't go right.

That is correct. That would be the Evo IX RS turbo with the magnesium. The other IX turbos do not have magnesium.

I had the magnesium. Spool up slightly quicker (almost un-noticeable to the butt dyno) but it blew up in 3000kms. On a completely stock car. And there are lots of cases of this happening. Go figure.

not being a d**k when i say this or knocking the product at all, but why does everyone think the 20g-lt is the ultimate solution to any turbo need. i understand the numbers, spool ect, and yes it perfoms well (mostly on meth from what ive seen) but its not for everyone. the cost is a little high and it dosnt end at just the turbo theres alot of supporting mods to get that thing working, well not alot but ya get the point it doesnt end there at $1700. my point being that this guy wants like 320awhp why is the 20g-lt even an idea to reccomend. i know everyone wants to suck buschur's c&$k but seriously chill out this dude doesnt even need a turbo to get what he wants.
