- Best bang for the buck would have been a full Megan TBE for $550, only $70 more than your cat-back
+1

megan turboback with resonated testpipe.

Fits nice, sounds good, costs way less than HKS.

ok get the buschur turboback exhaust it is inexpensive and has a good sound. I personally like your first idea. get your exhaust custom built at a muffler shop. my friend did that with his suburu and it sounds amazing. i would buy a muffler then get 3 inch piping and have my muffler shop put it together for me it seems like it is the cheapest and one of the best options. if you dont want to do that then get the buschur exhaust if you are looking for a good deal.

Hold on, man, you're going crazy here.

1) First off, you said there was a hole in the MUFFLER with the o2 sensor missing. I responded saying NO EVO has a hole in the muffler. You didn't even notice what you said or what I said, because you then started saying there was no o2 in the CAT. Ok, listen...there is no o2 sensor in the cat and no o2 sensor in the muffler on an Evo VIII, which is what you have. Only Evo IXs have bungs in the cat for an o2 sensor, and NO EVO HAS A HOLE IN THE MUFFLER for an o2. Your VIII has a bung for the o2 in the CAT-BACK, and if it doesn't, then it's not an VIII, or it doesn't have a stock VIII exhaust.

2) If you wanted the most power, then the HKS was not the one to get AND it costs more than others.

3) No idea why you'd call Megan. You don't go straight to the manufacturer to get the exhaust. You buy it from a retailer...like one of the vendors on here. The entire TBE goes for $550 shipped, and the whole fitment issue can be read about in tons of threads. You are making the huge mistake of not reading and search, which is a very bad sign for someone who is on their 2nd Evo yet still knows nothing.

4) 05-06 Evos have ACD...but the Megan DP still fits. I had one on my car for over a year and ran great times with it. It's sitting in my garage waiting to be bought now that I have a Buschur TBE.

maybe it does have an evo 9 exhaust cause in the cat theres an o2 sensor hole so maybe it does. the reason i called megan is because im the owner of import life in arizona and im a distributor for them. 550 for the tbe are you crazy!! i got the downpipe, testpipe, and the tbe for 480 shipped so dont know where you got 550 cause list price for that exhaust is 450.

You said you got the HKS hi-power for $480, and that's just a cat-back. What are you talking about when you say you got "the downpipe, testpipe, and the tbe for 480 shipped"? That doesn't make sense, because the DP and TP are part of the TBE. Maybe you meant to say cat-back? Anyway, you're the crazy one if you somehow own an import shop and don't know any of this stuff. You can't get anything straight in this thread - I am fearful for your customers.

Yes, Zeus sells Megan TBEs for $550 shipped - you really didn't know? You do know that a TBE is the entire exhaustk, right? A cat-back is only half the exhaust, and that costs about $300-350. I'm very concerned if you don't know the difference between TBE (TURBOBACK EXHAUST) and cat-back.

Also, you are now saying that you got an extremely low price on a used 05 that happens to have a stock IX exhaust on it? You really, REALLY need to make sure there's nothing wrong with that car. The red flags are flying at full mast now...

no see down here the whole honda thing is big i can tell you anything about any honda/acura. my evo is the first evo that i have ever done at my shop . all my mr had was the apex n1 turbo catback and an intake. Y? cause evos were never that big down here cause the car and the parts are so expensive. thats y when you asked me if it had an evo 9 exhaust i cant really say it did cause i had never seen an evo 8 exhaust. but i dont understand wat your saying about that theres no o2 sensor hole in the cat in any evo. I got a carfax on the car and its clean. when i first got the car it had a sticker from mynes. I called mynes and asked them what that car had been there for. They said that the old owner had them do an hks carbon catback exhaust and a k&n filter and at the end flash the car. they also said that when the guy was gettig ready to trade it in he had mynes take the catback off and put a stock exhaust on and flash it back to stock. he didnt remember if it was an evo 8 or evo 9 exhaust. but he said that the customer never abused that car at all.

Why did you recomend the tbe from megan . I heard that the dp most times rubs on the transfer case and breaks it. yes, that doesnt mean that it will happen to mine but is it really the best bang for the buck?
