I suggest them on Evo VIIIs, not on Evo IXs.

Basically because I've seen the results you got on the VIIIs, but I've not seen people stretching the IX OE bolts. Makes me wonder...

People say that they get oil leaks after doing the head studs but I think most of the time its coming from the valve cover. Are there any actual recorded cases showing that doing the 1x1 method has negative effects?

I'm about to do the xs engineering 272's I'm running 23 psi and stock turbo and from what I'm gathering at these levels aftermarket head bolts are not necessary, is this true? I'm looking at avoiding any unecessary work that I need to do. I dont really feel like removing the head just to put in a few studs. I'll be running this setup for awhile and I dont run racegas and dont track it ever.

5,000 miles with my present GT3065 setup, 10,000 prior with a WR-8 both boosting at 27psi peak. I just check the coolant level periodically and try to be proactive about preventing serious knock.

Keeping the stock head studs rather than decompressing the HG to do the 1 to 1 method makes more sense to me.

This is great news to hear. I was always unsure of needing them with 26-27psi.
