Main Bearings & Rod Bearings

Hello everyone just wanted to bring this up to all who think Cosworth has a good product well think again. I ordered Main Bearings and Rod Bearings for My Evo 8, just had them coated by Calico, and after spending all this money the bearings don't have the proper clearance and Cosworth, will not stand behind their product. Ken from Cosworth said that I should have check for clearance before getting them coated. Well I want everyone to know that bearings normally if they come with more clearance and you happen to get them coated 9 times out of 10 you would have to take off a couple thousand's of the crank for clearance to make them work. I think you should all be ware that their bearings are no good. I recently ordered Clevite Bearings and they work perfect.

no offense, you should have checked clearances before coating and work from there.

It's your mistake.

So how is it cosworth's fault? you should have checked the clearance before you coated them. Why would they accept a return on a product that is now useless to them.

i don't quite understand how this is cosworth's bad. just like any business, once something is modified it is no longer the manufacture or companies problem.

The bearings you ordered were measured to the exact size you ordered them to and then you went ahead and added to their thickness without doublechecking what clearance you might have to work with???????????? This is neither Cosworths problem nor Calicos.

THe short of all this is you're going to flame Cosworth for your mistake. Brilliant.
