My Winter Project... 25.1E RWD Evo 8

I was going to keep this semi-secretive but decided I my as well share it. This started out as a simple build-up for next season until a few of us got drunk... that is when it really started... Here is the beginning:

So I tore it apart a little bit.... I decided I needed to obviously save some weight so that is when the next phase began....

Here is how I started to remove extra uneeded weight:

I still found more weight though....

Here are some of the first decent chunks of weight I found to be extra:

After all, all of these parts are either extra of could be replaced by lighter stuff

I need to go get the pics off my camera to show some more of the buildup... I should have them up tonight. The next sets of pictures is where the buildup actually starts looking neat...

damn, you're going to tube the whole rear section. now that thing will have a weight distribution of 80/20, . that's one big project, can't wait to see the result. no wonder you don't have time to manufacture your intake manifold.

I like it man

After all most of the fast race Evos are very light at this point so this is the only way to beat them

I have given up with my Evo at 3300 lbs with me in it - I cant bring myself to cut it up, I think I will do one more year of drag racing and then convert it back to a street car for nostaliga meets
