True all those supporting mods will help, but the limiting factor in that equation for power is your turbo itself. Ported manifold, hotside and coated Ebay 02 gave me absolutely no power gain at all whatsoever on the dyno. The only difference I noticed was that my wallet was $300 dollars or so lighter , but ohh well....I see you swapped out cams, whatever cams you're running now will shine even more on a bigger turbo....but anyhow, I wish you the best of luck in proving me and the haters of the FP turbo wrong.

blueevo8,
If you didn't pick up power from porting and a SS 02 housing there is a problem somewhere else. I am guessing your turbo back exhaust, what do you have on the car? If the cork is after the 02 housing putting an 02 housing on won't help.

Just today Eric was at our shop. He added a few more parts to his car and wanted me to touch up his tune. Previously the car made 370 whp and 310 ft lbs of torque.

He added a ported/coated exhaust manifold, ported coated 10.5 housing, ported stock intake manifold and 65 mm throttle body, all BR parts.

The car made 394 whp and 335 ft lbs of torque today. This was on straight 94 octane on OUR dyno.

This car has:

BR Stages 1-4
Race FMIC
1000 cc injectors
AEM EMS
EVO Green (20glt) turbo
HKS 280 cams
Plus the changes listed above.

The car made unbelievable power because it has the perfect combination of parts on it. Eric is basically following the build I did on my RS when it went 10.8 on the Green. My car made 450 whp on race gas.

I think when we tune his car on race gas, next time he comes down, he will get very close to my numbers.

This car still has the STOCK head and STOCK shortblock.

The turbo absolutely is a winner. You just have to have the right mods to go along with it.

I've said it 100 times, you DO NOT put a turbo upgrade of any kind on a car that doesn't have the right supporting mods first. Buying poor supporting mods before hand won't get you anywhere either.

There IS a difference in parts and there are parts that outperform others. Choose the wrong ones and you throw your money in the trash can. May as well use your dollars for rolling papers and save yourself some labor.

What is the fastest/quickest anyone has gone with a 50 trim in an EVO NOT A DSM, in an EVO?

I am willing to bet as of now the Green is faster than any 50 tim as gone on an EVO.

Last year at the WW event AMS was there with their Time Attack car. Pass after pass the car ran slower than my street EVO RS. Granted it was only by a hundreth or so that we were quicker but it has a 50 trim and was much ligher than my car. I just don't get the support for the 50 trim in the EVO community.

There are already two 10 second Green turbo'd EVO's. There will be more this year. These cars cranking out 400+ whp on our dyno are all capable on a perfect pass to run high 10's. Curt ran 10.5 at 423 whp on our dyno, granted he's a FREAK! haha

It's a great turbo. The best all around turbo for an EVO there is.

Dave thanks for asking, becuase at the time I was on the stock 05 Turbo I actually obtained a spare EVO 8 exhaust manifold, a new 10.5 Hotside and an Ebay 02 housing which I had coated locally, but I sent my spare mani and hotside to your shop to get ported. I skipped out on the coatings though.

Anyhow, at the time I was on the stock turbo and had your ported stuff on my car I had the following mods:

AEM EMS
AEM 5-bar map sensor
AEM AIT
converted to speed density
HKS EVC 5 EBC
HKS SSQ BOV
HKS DLI 2
HKS 280s set at +2 int, 0 exh
ARP Headstuds
SMC V2 meth injection spraying 100% meth, m7 nozzle
Precision 1000cc injectors
Walboro 255 FP
Turbotrix custom cone intake
Espelir 2.75" DP
generic 3" testpipe
3" JIC Spartan Catback
Buschur Race FMIC
LPI LICP
25-28 PSI of boost

But anyhow Dave, before the ported parts I was making 380 AWHP and 410 TQ on the stock sized turbo, after I added the ported stuff on, my power curve came out exactly the same....

DynoDynamic charts very often have the RPM scale completely bollixed. You can see some of this in that above chart, torque and HP cross at two different points, one of them at around 6k rpm. In reality it may not be nearly as laggy as that chart makes it look. Your chart is scaled properly kouzman.

What boost does it hit full boost in the logs? That will correspond with that sharp peak in the torque value, and can be used to get an idea of what that chart should probably look like...

I don't know what the downpipe looks like on your car or the JIC exhaust, never seen either that I know of. They sound like they would be fine.

The ported pieces and 02 housing should for sure pick up. There are a few different 02 housings out there, I don't think they are all identical. We had one here last week that was bought from Ebay and was different inside, we had to port it for the customer to make it more like "ours".

The 02 housing alone should be close to 15 whp gains unless something after the 02 housing is providing a restriction.

Yes, I did make 450 whp and 451 ft lbs of torque on OUR dyno. It was at the shootout with probably 20+ guys watching the pull. That was on C16 with 30+ psi of boost.

The car ran 10.8 at 128 mph like that on Yokaham Neova's in absolute full street trim.

I think its safe to say that 450 on his dyno is probably close to around 550 on DJ
