For IX MR, it's a 24mm bolt (Fill port).

The drain bolts out of the '03, '04, and '05 5-speeds are all 24mm as well. Just always remember to break the fill plug loose before the drain plug as you never want to be stuck with an empty trannny, diff, x-fer case, or motor and no way to fill it

Plus removing the fill plug will help the fluid train out of the tranny MUCH quicker. Just be sure to remove the fill plug all the way before you remove the drain plug. If you only loosen the fill plug then start to drain the tranny, when you remove the fill plug the rest of the way you'll get a sudden surge of tranny oil that will splash all over your drain pan.

Gross indeed. I undid the fill plug, then the drain plug, it globbed out right over my drain pan onto the garage floor. That stuff reeks.
