why all this talk about dsm assossiated with the evos, evos are made in japan not diamond star motors=dsm. if evo were made here i wouldn't be getting one.

I definately agree with Shiv...changes to cam timing are good for very good gains on the Evo's, and this becomes even more improved with the aftermarket cams.

Because Evos and DSMs share the same engine and a lot of the same technology. And quite frankly, in the US, quite a bit more is known about the tech that went into the DSMs than the Evo. So it is natural to look to the DSMs for information that also pertains to the Evo.

If you don't want to learn from 14 years of DSM development in the US, so be it. But you will fall behind the curve of people who do.

The only reason why i lusted after the EVO is because in high school i was in love with my DSM....

Countless hours were spent on dsmtalk.com trying to find tuning tips so I too, could have a quick DSM. If it wasnt for the DSM community, the knowledge I have now would be very minimal in comparison.

Rock on DSMs!

Al - so you're saying with 272's a bigger fuel pump, adj. fp regulator and injectors are a "must"? Isn't the stock fuel pump a 210lph? I'm running a turbo-back exhuast (no cat), Super AFC and manual boost controller at 20psi. I'm currently pulling 17% fuel at 6500 and 19% fuel at 7000 and i'm still running rich. Obviously I wouldn't want to pull that much with 272's, but I don't see why I'd need a bigger injector yet (until I go bigger turbo or decide to run nitrous like you).

Just trying to clear things up - I'd like to get a set of 272's next, and don't really want to outlay the cash for new injectors yet if they're not necessary.

i dont agree with the fuel pump/injector/fpr theory... (until u go with a bigger turbo of course)

AMS is now at 380.6whp on the stock evo8 turbo without changing those.. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=28056

they got some new cams that are even better than the hks 272's!!
