I am getting my motor built very soon. I have a 50-trim kit going on the car also. The car has Buddy Club 264/272 cams in it now. Should I stick with these?

I was thinking of stepping up to HKS 280s. Will they be to big for the turbo?

 

Go big. I got 280's on a stock sized turbo, so you will be OK with those. I had the HKS 272's AND the HKS 280's on my 2.0L motor, stock turbo. (TME)

Yeah, keep the 272 exhaust cam and just upgrade the intake cam to a 272 or a 280.

 

Nope. Go for HKS 280's or bigger. Perhaps Buschur's BF272's? Not sure how big of a turbo you need for them to recommend them, but they make damn good power!

 

What are the specs of your engine build-up? Will there be a displacement increase or are you going to build a high RPM 2-Liter? Will the cylinderhead be ported? What will the static compression ratio be? These factors in addition to your choice of turbo, will have an impact on your choice of cams.

 

I would look into GSC stage 1 cams for the Evo 8 also.

 

built 2.0.....9:0:1 commpresion. The head will not be ported.

 

i would go with 280's, maybe from HKS .

 

i run the tme turbo to how did it feel after the bigger cam's smoked?
