ACT clutch differences

I need a clutch for 400whp+, and I'm on a tight budget.

I've had great luck with ACT clutches on other cars so I'm going with an ACT, question I have is what is the difference between the MB7-HDSS heavy duty, and the MB7-XTSS extreme, I can't find tq ratings for the second one. This clutch needs to be streetable (daily driver).

XT = xtreme pressure plate (heavier and more torque capacity)
HD = heavy duty pressure plate (slightly heavier)

I don't know the ftlb's...Maybe someone can help out on that.
I believe its almost 100 ftlbs more capacity.

according to ebay, the XTSS holds 567ft/lbs, but I couldn't find that number on ACT's website anywhere

also as to not start a new thread, wondering if any of the cheaper ($200) ebay flywheels are any good? (I'm on tight budget here)

The XTSS is rated at 567 ftlbs. Sorry about the website, but we are undergoing a total revamp.

ACT's ratings for 2wd cars? My last ACT (organic HD for my WRX) started slipping at 400hp/330lbft (crank).

The calculations for torque capacity are pretty simple estimates and are the same for any car whether FWD, RWD, or AWD. While the clutch should hold approximately the rated torque, there are many other factors that will contribute to clutch slippage. For instance, the additional inertia and traction during a drag launch can cause excessive heat which lowers the coefficient of friction and therefore lowers torque capacity. I can't explain why your clutch would have slipped without testing it, but the calculations have proven themselves over the years to be pretty accurate. Many consider them as conservative estimates.

You cannot compare different clutches for different model cars as I would assume not only are they not the same pressure plates represented by HD or XT, but they are different kinds of clutches i.e., push type, pull type etc and work differently.
