plugs won't help unless you can feel it misfiring..

I got tuned today and I put in a fresh set up plugs..

never had code before until I put in 1000cc inj, so I assume adding those and my timing or something in that area is causing it..

I only get it at idle before I can ever go to WOT so it depends when the code is popping up I guess.

if its like mine and doing it at idle or regular ol' driving plugs won't help.

aftermarket cams do make this code come on sometimes. but not all evo's with cams have this code. i think it depends on the tunner.

p0300 random cylinder misfire. all cars from 1996 to now can get this code. you need to check systems that effect all of your cylinders like compression, bad fuel or fuel pressure, head gasket, coil drivers, injector drivers. if your car is running ok like you say. dont worry, grab that dam scanner and erase the code. drive normal for a day, the misfire monitor in the ecu will check for missfire. if it comes back on than you have some diagnostic testing to do. good luck with that said. my work here is done for now.

iam out of the country for a couple of weeks, and iam planning on putting the stock air bix and ucip with ix bov backon and see if that had anything to do with it. i gotta say tho, that once in a while i do get that emission canister cel, so that could maybe be a cause as well.
thanks for all the comments.

at idle. i just tried different plugs today and installed a hyper ground system and did a reset. and about 4 miles boom got the code.....p0300 its just a waist of money and time to keep messing with it i cant wait to see that ses light gone!!! hey anyway, good luck with yours.

well iam bone stock now except for a tbe, and the car is at the dealer and the code came on, checked plugs, coil packs, and ecu and everything seems to be fine, the mech himeself said the the code is on but the car feels smooth as heck so did my other evo budies, none of them felt that it was misfiring. however, i just talked to another friend that that is somewhat mechanicaly inclined and he suggested that i should do a compression test and see if my seals are good, cuz they good trigger the cel. keep in mind my car is none stock and it has 22k miles.
iam going to tell the dealer tomorrow to do a compression test and see what happens.
has any of u guys tried doing a compression test and see the results?

btw i just spoke to the dealer and asked him on what the compression # is suppose to be on a new evo ix and he said it should be between 140-145 psi, mine came out to be around 160psi across the the cylinders.
