Hey guys sorry i missed this thread for the past two days, but here i am!!

The 1.06 A/R hotside i have does not have a garrett part number, and as such can not be purchased in the US.... it is the only one ive ever seen, and i honestly dont know how to get more. The housing drifto posted below is considerably different from my 1.06, as his looks MUCH larger, despite their having the same stated a/r. My feeling is that his A and his R are much larger, but in the same proportion.

that is very interesting to see. I have never seen that housing before. Is that the "euro t4" thing??.... very intersting. Its much larger than the 1.06 i have. <wondeirng where the hell you looked to come up with that!!>

The synapse gates will work on our manifold, in fact they boltup to a 44mm vband flange perfectly. They are, however, a bit logner than the tial 44 so it does requires some clearancing. In terms of the pass side one, you would have to slightly trim the heatshield around the p/s pump. On the driv side it gets somehwat close to the radiator so you would have to use a stock or PWR 40mm. I dont think the 57mm pwr or a koyo would clear, but i could be mistaken.

However, I'd wholeheartedly agree that "off the shelf" configuration turbos are much easier to source if you need a quick replacement than one that has a lot of custom work associated with making it.
ive head valves break off, destroying the cyl head and ending up in the turbine wheel, its not a pretty sight, but it can and does happen very sad day when it does let go. glad to see that you agree off-the-shelf has its advantages!

you have a 3076. The 3076 is identified due to its ported shround compressor housing. Our 3071 has a standard 4" tapered conical inlet, the 3076 has the crazy cnc machined ported shroud. We actually make a velocity stack that sits inside the 3076 ported shroud compressor housing, it would be cool to put one in your car after everythigns done to see a change. On paper it doesnt do much, but some people have used it and said otherwise... havent had time to do a back to back

the setup looks great, thanks for the pics. The side ports of the wastegates act as if they were the internal gate. if you are using an MBC or any stock boost control, you will run the wg lin e to a tee then to each of the side ports. The top ports on the gate are ONLY for electronic boost controllers that use a solenoid to control duty cycle, ie apex'i AVC-R, greddy, etc

i usually recommend the turboXS 2stage for an mbc, they are so easy and simple, +12v and its higher boost, no 12v and its the lower boost setting

actually some of the best welds in those pics are done by hand. you can see the robot welds as compared to the hand welds at the wg tubes, turbine/head flanges and the collector...

thanks guys i hope this helps answer most of the questions

Hey Drifto,

Please post more about that housing... I'd be very interested in upgrading to that in the near future.

I think he found that in some local archaeological digs here in AL. From what I understand, the local cannibalistic tribes had very good equipment back in the day . . .

I have one more that can be machined for the GT30R and 6 or so more that can be machined for the GT35R. All are the same 1.06 A/R in the pics. Honestly I'm not really sure what they are for originally. My source had them all sitting on a shelf. They have a 2.5" v-band on them, but I machine them to accept a 3" v-band. These are T3 Garret housings with Garrtet p#'s on them and I can get more if I need them. I've also got a .84 a/r T4 P-trim housing with a T3 flange. Talk about weird!

As in machined for a gt35 with a t3 bolt pattern? That sounds very interesting.

maybe it is the same hsg i have? Mine is a 2.5" vband outlet too, thats what really threw me off. the nozzle on yours lokos wider tho, and it has that triangular gusset on the front of the flange that my T4 has but not t3.... weirdness

the .84 a/r t4 p trim with t3 flange is the euro t4. i have some of them but they are also tough to get, and cant use anything smaller than a ptrim, so you might as well just go traditional t4

I thought is was cool because if I ever stepp up to a T67/P-trim then I don't have to build another manifold

ok guys. its running. fired it up today. did a few shake down runs and she needs a tune. the 1000cc injectors, 4.0 intake, twinscroll turbo kit, revolver cams, all on stock ecu need some ajusting. hehehe. but BUT 18 19 psi is what i did for my starting point. omg. spoolup. mega fast. i cant wait to hit 24psi and my race map at max boost. this thing feels like its going to be nasty. it may even scare a few people.

the 3.5 inch exhast and the dual external dumps are so f'n loud its great. i finaly got my car where i like it. loud.

ill keep you all posted. i got to fix my exhaust. i ripped the band clamp off pulling it back into the garage.

tomarow im going to install my wideband back in and turn the boost up to 21ish psi and start logging and tuning. once the 93 map is done i am spraying meth... then when my 93+meth map is done its the kill map ***** to the wall all it can make 100oct+100%meth. goal 500+ hp. i would like to hope for 525 but lets see what happens.

if the car is done and still alive at 500+hp it will be at etown raceway the 25th in the full race vendor spot. so come check it out.
