Evolution 1 (yes. ONE!) drivetrain question.
My evo 1 has front center and rear lsd but it also has a group n rally trans so I don't think it had one from the factory my friends evo 3 does have a front lsd. There is an easy way to check pull out the drivers rhs axle and if it measures 15 mm longer than a standard 1g dsm one then it is lsd.

AWD94 you are missing a tranny code in that list, WQEK is off a late galant vr4-RS with the front viscous lsd, 3.909 final and short gearing.
As for your evo 1 Rand: it does not have a torsen rear, never EVER did mitsu put torsen diffs in the rear of evos. I would use a high quality differential fluid though, like redline, or the factory mitsu diaqueen gear oil (not sure which one they spec for the rear end, theres a few different types out there.)

Yep thats another way to check if you have a front Viscous LSD. just like my old galant had in its RS tranny

Hi,
I plan to sign up at the lancer register .com (net.. something)
Seems to be more first 2nd and III evo information there.
BUT, I gotta change drivetrain fluids soon before I could do that.
So, this has gotta sound really dumb, but bear with me; I haven't a shop manual, and my owners manual is all in Japanese.
What specific fluids do I use in Tranny? Transfer Case? Rear Diff?
What kind? viscosities? Andy brand recommendations?
The last car I owned is an MR2, one transaxle requiring run of the mill transmission fluid to change the driveline fluid. (I remember using MT90)
Also, any tips on changing the coolant/antifreeze?
Oh, and thanks for 94awdcoupe. That settles it! I do have front lsd! yah!
The front just use any tranny fluid you like, redline MT90 is a good fluid, I used to use it in my galant vr4. for the transfer case and rear diff, I always used redline heavy duty shockproof, but since your in canada, that stuff might be too thick for your colder temps up there. take a look at either the 75w90 or 80w140 gear oil's, they would work well for the x-fer case and rear diff. Or you coulkd always use factory fluids. expensive, but they work too.
Nevermind, I've found DSM website that lists these. Hopefully, they're all the same.
So MT90 is fine on a front transaxle with LSD?
