I dunno how you can over look 9sec9's new numbers on the green. All he had done is some head work and cams along with tuning of course. But everything else was stock. Ive always wanted a 35R but with those numbers he posted especially 500 ft/lbs of torque. His tune boost or torque dont spike so all i can say is it came on early.
my point is, the green is going to have to be pushed to the limit to do what a larger turbo can do easily.
I think alot of people upgrade to bigger turbos before getting the most out of the stock turbo.
The people looking to upgrade to a bigger turbo should post their current mods and current 1/4 times. If you aren't running mid 11s on the stock turbo then you shouldn't be looking at a bigger turbo should be looking for the bottleneck on your current configuration.
If you are running mid 11s and want more I wouldn't recommend anything but a large turbo or nitrous. Most of the medium sized turbos make more power but the useable powerband isn't as good as stock.
Think about how many people are running the green/20G turbos but less then 10 are in the 10s. The ones that made it have more $$$ invested than ever should have been.

there's two ways to go fast: create a very efficient setup, couple it with good tuning and great driving or throw so many damn parts at it that the car has no choice but to go fast
Not completely accurate in my opinion, keep in mind David Buschur ran 11.60s on the stock turbo with the 2003 evo 8 and he is one of the best drivers on this board so a typical or new driver will not be able to replicate unless he has alot more parts and more agressive / unsafe - edge tuning. Keep in mind their are so many vars that you can't say every car should run this with this when they are close to being in stock form. The stock turbo is great but it doesn't mean its the answer to easy 11's for everyone.
Even on the DSM the 16G has always been an 11 second performer.
85% of the 11.99-11.00 cars are stock turbo powered.
It doesn't take much of a driver to launch and shift an EVO.

Jeff, mid 11's on the stock turbo is a tall order, based on your signature you haven't done it yet either so I'm not sure why you're so quick to make it seem attainable by most.
there's also a distinct difference between what to expect on pump vs race gas on a stock turbo and you have to let us know which you're referring to.

A better look would be how many 16g evos ran 11's and how many have not ran 11s. I will think you will get my point, the 16g on the dsm is an evo3 16g that is a bit different than the 03 evo turbo similar yes. I don't consider myself a bad driver but I really don't think my car would of ran 11.99 easily on the stock turbo either unless I ran the **** out of it. Running it once and consistantly is the point also, this is just my experience with the 03's setup.
OT: imagine i got 35R Custom, lol, people who complain about turbo lag and They dont even own one,Perfect street turbo, full boost just above 4K, Ive spent maybe $2000 to build it, turbo was the most expensive part in that project, i go cheap and fast, so far 5k on the turbo no problems, dialy driven.

no offense but your post doesn't really say much without dyno or track times...saying your "fast" isn't good enough
Im confused myself. No i do not own ATP kit and my post was OT, off topic saying about turbo lag experience, dont twist the thread. So if i pm you with track times and dyno pulls, and how much money I invested, do i get a cookie? I'm not here to impress somone or other people on this board.
