Balance shaft remove or not ??
I do a lot of road racing with my track evo. I have balance shaft eliminator kit right here in front of me, I have been thinking about having the balance shaft remove. What are you guys thought about it ? remember this is an track/road course evo. So keep it in our remove it ?

I road race and drag race my car as well and I was back and forth about doing it. Really this is the only thing holding us back from spinning real high RPM. I ended up removing the rear shaft and machining the front shaft to a spindle. Essentially is is the same as the one AMS sells for about $300. You simply bring it to a machine shop and have them put it on a lathe and take off the counter weights. It only costs about $40. The stubby shaft has been used for years on DSM's and many evo's run it as well, but I can't recommend it. I have personally seen 2 oil pump falures that were running the stuby shaft. I can not say that it was a direct result of the stubby shaft, but I have my suspicions. I can honestly say that I feel no difference in vibration even with poly engine mounts. The car rev's quicker and I am very happy that I did it. Now I can feel safe when I bring it up to 8500 RPM or higher. Hope this helps.
If it's a track car I would say remove them. When I was building my motor I was thinking about taking them out. I DD my car to and from work and everywhere else so I decided to keep them in.
