DP hitting, how to fix

I got an evo8 and an aftermarket 3" downpipe. it is hitting the ACD/Gearbox in a place.

what i wanted to know is how i can fix it. would hitting it with a hammer (to bend it slightly) do the trick or a blowtorch or something else would be a better way to fix it.
thankx

Getting a DP that fits is what would work. Id say return the one you have or sell it, then get one that fits, dont beat the **** out if it.

Btw, ive got one for sale

sounds like you have a downpipe from an '03-04 model which has a smaller transfer case. u need to resell that downpipe & look for one that is for a MY05 or newer EVO...

you can use a hammer...ghetto, yes but it will solve your issue...no need to buy a new one

I would have sold the one hitting and bought the correct fitting dp for acd....but a hammer certainly could do the trick

definitely fix it...it could send phantom knock counts to your ecu

which would pull timing and make your car slower

yep that is why i want to fix it. but i have another problem that is causing phantom knocks as well :-( as going back to the stock DP decreased it a lot but not completely there.

as a side note, when you are doing two step (with the stationary rev limiter) do you get knocks then??
