Clutch is considered "normal ware" and once you replace the clutch once with a aftermarket one then the tranny is out of warranty

Well it's worth a try. But as most people have mentioned likely will not be covered in bumper to bumper. this is a wear item, but if they say they will cover give it a shot. I think I've read there was an instance where the dealership actually repaired an input shaft and 5th gear to fix this specific problem.

Good Luck! Let us know how it goes.

Seems like when the evo sees higher mileage people encounter the rhythmic vibration in 5th at certain speeds.

The p0300 is just triggered when the tranny harmonics trigger the sensor. And this is more likely to happen when cruising in 5th at a certain speed when 5th gear and input shaft or both worn in.

I had a problem like you described. Does it happen under boost only? Might be something as simple as your plugs. I had this problem and figured out it was my plugs, changed them and the problem went away.

Not saying this is the problem its hard to say but worth a try for a few $$ and 15 min of your time

Yeah I actually changed the plugs becasue it was falling on it's face at anything over 17 psi. This seems to be different

Well the warranty said that they will cover the cost of parts and labor for anything that goes wrong. So I am going to take the car to buschurs and if Daniel says it's the trans it's getting a bushwacker.

I can cause the code by giving it full throttle in 4th then coasting (sometimes randomly while crusing in 5th). When this happens on my 03 it causes my afr go to 18/1 and higher. It will return to normal afr after I depress the clutch or punch the gas, but shutters until then. I will log it tomorrow. Everyone keeps telling me to change my pump

well the P0300 came up for me when i put the spec twin disc clutch in!! when im in 5th going 60-70 and i let up off the gas you hear that harmonics sound coming from tranny, and it triggers the light!! they make a smart chip im trying to find that you put in your OBD 2 that resets it has you drive, without using a code reader? anyone heard of that??

Yup There is a code reader that clears it while you are driving so its not so annoying. A buddy of mine that owns mievo.net has it on his 03 and it works for him. I also have a 03 and also have the p-0300 code and yes i will soon have the code reader so i can travel from places to places without having the p-0300 code that feels like im hitting a brick wall and not going anywhere. Anyways Good luck to anyone and everyone who has a 03.

Yes I do the same.. CEL pops on, pull the reader from the glove compartment and attach it. Make sure it's just the P0300 or the P0128 and nothing else, and it clears the code no more CEL and no more throttling from the ecu
