For those of you that want to see just the intakes, the facts or my opinions (depends on how you feel about it) here is the link to our thread again:

This will conclude our intake manifold testing.

I am looking forward to putting my car together and getting everything back in place so it looks nice again. I have some wiring to clean up, turbo drain line to re-make.

I have one more test in mind yet. I am going to build our Race FMIC for the car with the lower i/c pipe coming in from the engine side, just like our Deluxe is. I'll probably dyno this back-to-back. For the guys who say it doesn't work like that, we have done the testing in the past already and there was no change. Probably make a real test out of this one though and post it. We did the test last summer on our black drag car with the GT42r, for those of you that don't like that design............that's how our black car is and it's run 172 mph and there was no change in doing it that way on the dyno

Anyway, I'll be getting these few things finished up and then putting the car back on the dyno and see what it'll make with some high boost and some tuning. I'm thinking 720+.

Can you change the one set of lines on the HKS vs. Hypertune graph so that one set is dashed and more distinguishable? It looks that the Hypertune was the one staying ahead HP wise from 5300-7500 but maybe it could be made more clearer.

Presumably if the Kansai unit were fitted with a larger throttle body, would it have outperformed the hypertune?

it seems logical to conclude the hks kansai reigns supreme as it did pretty well against the hypertune with just a lowly stock throttle body.

The Hypertune is the line that makes more power in the midrange.

Thanks David for all your testing. Are you going to be offering the Hypertune's now on your website? Im glad they are finally going to except some changes to there IM to be done. All i ask for is a Dual Rail design thats it.

Question?

I'd like to note that this is surely a performance advantage as increasing the stock throttle body to 65 mm is worth around 8 whp.
David,

First off, thank you very much for providing these insights, as I know this was time intensive & you have provided a very great service to this community.

I have one question & forgive me, if you've already responded to this, as I read your results, but I don't think you addressed this specifically.

If you were to replace the stock throttle bottle on the AMS & HKS unit, is it your opinion that they would then come closer to matching the peformance of the Hypertune?

Surely the HKS unit should come close to then outperforming the Hypertune & the AMS unit should improve as well.

Correct? Yes/No?

I know you stated the the stock intake improved by about 8whp, but would you expect to see greater than 8whp increases on the AMS or HKS or would they be more in line with only 8whp.

Again, thank you for providing this data, as I personally appreciate all your effort.

Thanks-Big Boost

awesome work David thanks so much, I only wish you included the most common setup used... ported stock intake + 65mm tb combo or at least the ported stock intake.

Maybe it was done and I somehow missed it??

David, What would you expect to gain with any of these manifolds on a bone stock motor with stock boost? I, along with many who read these posts don't have a 600whp evo... Thanks, The other Pete

Keep in mind, that 8whp is a 65mm TB, not a 3" (aka 75mm) TB. I would suspect that given 3" piping, the HKS would be on top, followed by either AMS or Hypertune (they'd be close).
