Seems that we have a similar taste in cars.

indeed. The stealth goes under the knife this coming weekend for a new shortblock. The stock shorty with a cast crank from 1991 didn't like 650-700awhp too many times oh well, it had 155k hard miles on it so it was a trooper.

I find myself in a similar situation. I need a new shortblock for my 92 VR4 as my 2 bolt main block decided to toss a rod. I had just redone the heads 4k miles before that so I'm pissed considering I had the entire thing out for that and could have easily redone the rings and bearings. (Still had 150 psi on all 6 so I thought I would be good to go).

Oh well, when things break it's time to upgrade.

ouch, but your right, a forced upgrade isn't always a bad thing

I've decided to keep the stealth to pump gas which is ~ 550awhp so I'm going to leave it there and do the Buschur race engine in the EVO. I just don't think the oiling system is good enough on the 3/S platform for 700+awhp, they just don't last long like that.
