E-85

Hopefully this is the right place to start this thread.
We are switching to E85 on my car for this upcoming season. I am wondering who all is running E-85 and what they have thought about it.

My questions are where the limits are with E 85 on a set up like mine.
2.0L
cp pistons 9:1
brian crower rods
Arp hardware
comp 280 cams
crower springs and retainers
stock head and valves

Full race downpipe/ o2 housing and 3 in custom exhaust

single port nitrous express 100 shot

stock intake manifold
areomotive fuel rail
percsion 1600cc injectors
Fuel injector driver box
Buschur racing dual 255 intank fuel pumps
areomotive FPR
Buschur C.O.P. setup
Aem ems
Aem wideband
Aem true boost
8pt cage

im sure im missing stuff but that what i can think up right now..

Last year went 10.57@134 on nitrous at 5200ft elevation at bandimere speedway and 11.1@125 off nitrous both on c-16 at 30psi.. also dyno 690awhp@30 psi on nitrous and 580awhp@30psi off nitrous.. the things i change from last year to this year is the injectors (use to be 1000cc, now 1600cc injectors) and the injector driver box and obviously going to be changing the tune.

How far can i go with E85 and has anyone done this.. Im sure there is a few people out there. So if anyone has any recommendations or knowledge about the e85 and evo's let me know..

Thanks for the space
Mark

I would stick with the C16. You will make quite a bit more power and obviously be able to run more boost. Why did you only run 30psi?

Well from what I have found around town e85 is pretty easy to come by. It might be a trade off for a bit less power to be able to get it cheaper while being easy to find. You can spend that saved money on more track or tune time I would imagine e85 and nitrous will get you somewhere in between your old numbers

I would think you would have the fueling capacity to run e85 on say 28psi? Have you talked to Lucas about this?

Do you think 160cc will be enough on a 37r + e85?

yeah we talk all the time.. my car is at his shop right now.

I have talked to a bunch of people about E85 and the fuel system, and i wanted to see what everyone thought on here about it.

I think we should have enough fuel for 30psi and the 100shot, but only time and tuning will tell. Thats why i posted this... to see if anyone has had any experence with E-85 and nitrous... or E85 and high boost/ nitrous.. A few local guys are running it in Dsm's around here with similar fuel systems, so i figured i would try it.

Is anyone on here running E-85with any kind of setup, poss even more stock.

Mark

My car is currently at MAC, I have a 35r kit but am running 30psi very easily on E85 I am at 588 whp on only 1200cc injectors so you should have no worries about the 1600cc injectors.

OH, btw I don't have direct nitrous injection, but am running a nx fmic chiller. Wont have the final #s until thursday but with all the preliminary runs we are guessing about 630 awhp on the chiller. And she runs absolutely great on the E85!!

e-85 is def. worth it. i m boosting at 26psi, dropping down to 21psi. 375hp/365tq. the downside to e-85 is you get horrible gas mileage...

As an update, today is day #2 on e85! granted I'm pretty stock, but still its like a whole different car!!! You should really try to contact Tobz (PM him here, on RMevo, or CEOC, thats his username) he did my tune, and did an excellent job. I think he said mine was like the 7th E85 conversion he has done. And IIRC, he was working on an E85/N02 setup earlier today.
