1062 WHP - back tuning on the Dyno Flash Evo 8
Al the power curve is amazing. The first thing i noticed is how it spooled up. Then when the fan went flying that took the cake!..lol...

From your experience do you think putting in a short pipe out the side of my bumper would give me any gains over having a full down pipe? Other than weight savings.
Al
I would say that if you dropped the entire catback section and gained nothing then just dumping the exhaust out the side of the car is not going to gain anything either, other than the weight savings, which will be about 25 pounds for the turbo back. You know I'll do whatever you want but it sure is nice seeing a car with this much power still running an exhaust.
Maybe it's time we step up your turbo size? Our car is going to be on hold for quite sometime, we can experiment with some bigger stuff on yours, it will help us step up from the 42R when we are ready too
2k4EVO8, if your goals are to make the power Al is we need to talk a little more about your build. Just say the word and I'll get you there.

Since the first time I had the Evo I felt like I had enough power
From the time I bought the car I have been continually trying to make more and more power. Each time I made more power I always wanted more.
Last night, I did back to back to back pulls at 1,000 whp trying to get the boost to go higher and its running like a clock.
In reality, its more power than anyone needs. I felt content.
I really don't want to drive the car down the track now as I am really nervous.
I am headed to the track tomorrow to see what happens.
Depending on what happens, I would like to explore some turbo "alternatives" next week or the week after if you have some snails under consideration I would be happy to test them out. Now that I have such a reliable engine I am really feeling secure and happy with my dyno experimentation.
Thanks again to Buschur Racing!

Master Buschur deserves all the credit as he is the one who guided me with providing the base map and all the tuning advice.
All I did was do the grunt work strapping the car on the dyno and holding on for my life and loosing my ears.

I am frankly too afraid to drive it right now. However, all my team mates at ICS are demanding that we head to the track tomorrow. In a way I am thankful I have such good friends to motivate me back to attack.
As you know, the last time I made it exactly one foot before the trans exploded detroying the flywheel, clutch cover and crank in the process.
Hopefully, after I get back on the horse I will feel confident again.
I always remember the first time I came to E'town to meet you and right before I got there your car hit the wall at 150 mph plus. This racing stuff is no joke.

Don't expect too much my car weighs 3200 lbs after all with me in it and my driving is a bit rusty.
