These really are big numbers and impressive without question.

I am happy to see them even if this is a system I doubt I would use simply for its late spool.

I would however mention that any time one does make HUGE numbers, more so when you do it in a new way with new parts, folks will ask questions and be skeptical. I think thats in some ways only fair.

If folks don't bust Buschurs chops for it, it may be because they have a LONG history of putting down huge numbers and breaking their own records. Folks tend to give AMS the same sway.

In short as a newish shop who is doing new things please expect folks to ask hard questions, it's just human nature. After you do it for a while and your work proves to be of the quality you care for it to be then you will be given the same respect that some others seem to get.

As for now I still hope to see the focus on numbers and performance. Mention of other shops does little good and would only seem to raise tension and make an already awkward situation worse.

Contgrats again guys! I look forward to seeing some good 1/4 mile numbers on the car. Should be a solid 9 second car and good for mid to high 140's? Right?

PS- Why in the blue he!! would the car still have 2.5" exhaust parts on it?

You raise many good points and this one in particular is quite funny. I ask myself why too, but I do think they are planning on changing that part out soon. It does also, however, or should anyways, prove to many of those out there that huge exhausts are NOT required on the majority of street applications. This one alone, with 622whp on a Mustang Dyno, has both a 2.5" resonated test pipe AND a 2.5" muffler. Just goes to show you have much power can be produced even with the "smaller" sized exhausts.

One other thing though, although DTM is a fairly new company on evom, Nick certainly is not new to the industry.

the 2.5 exhaust is because it gives the car a mellow exhaust note. This is a street driven car. Additionally I think Nick knew that he didn't need it to get to break the record.

One correction. Tp is 2.5 (told Nick he could change that whenever he wants) the muffler has been changed and is 3". Car is very quiet for what it is. At least until it hits the open dump.

Oh ok so you now have a 3" muffler. Your power output regardless is still impressive. I completely understand the fact that you want to keep your exhaust quiet. That is why I have always loved my HKS one because it has a very mellow and deep sound to it at idle and lower rpms. I do not like the added attention. My new exhaust, however, I'm not thinking is going to help me in maintaining a quieter exhaust note. As long as it is deep though, I'm not too worried about; I hate raspy sounding exhaust.

I have a full Buschur turbo back with the Magnaflow muffler. I have yet to have anyone tell me how raspy or loud the car is... anyone. Not my mom, not my wife who would not ride in my old 240 because of the noise or the cops who eyeball me as I drive past.

Is it possible for folks to make good power with a 2.5" restriction? Sure, I guess it is. I just hope that Nick and DTM take the same systematic test, retest, test some more and post all the results sort of approach that some other folks take.

Reason for this? Simple, it keeps things transparent and provides the world with a better understanding and lots of respect for their efforts. Sadly right now I don't think enough people respect the effort that DTM is putting in to make good power for its customers and the Evo community as a whole.

Your kidding me right? Define what a fake sheet looks like and why please.

I know for a fact Nick is not afraid to let others see his work. I had my car worked on there and was put on the dyno after having a tune put on it due to getting cams, a DTM FMIC and head studs.

I will be going to Buschurs to get a repeat dyno sheet done and we will put one next to the other. Nick will not lock his ECUs and is as interested in what the dyno at Buschurs says as about anyone else as he is curious as to how close they are.

In short nothing about any interaction I have had with DTM would make me think they are shy about their work or are they afraid to let anyone else see it.

Fake my rectum!

Haha, maybe because Nick is ridiculous when it comes to tuning as that is his forte without a doubt. If only people knew of his talent and abilities. I'm glad they don't because then Nick wouldn't even have time for me.

Smooth graphs are the sign of a talented tuner.

Calm down...look at it as a complement, i think he meant no harm.

And yes, post your dyno from Buschurs, that will be nice.

Until then, keep your CLOACA covered
