check you v-band that holds the hotside of the turbo to the compresor,,,, there is a # 8 nut in there ,,,, also check you manifold for cracks and you o2 housing

 

So our saying you dont know where this noise is coming from Dude check your turnsignal switch.

And hear I thought I was gonna be listening for something I wouldnt even be able to hear

 

...and here I thought I was going to read something actually contributing to the conversation.

 

Dealer said there is a bolt missing near the bottom of the compressor housing. They wanted $400 to take it apart and then see if it was missing or busted off.

I told them for that money I would gladly take my car back and do it myself. Of course they wouldn't let me talk directly to the mechanic to show me what was missing so I have a fan on it now to cool the car off and then I'll start pulling.

Luckily it's nothing major. Worst it could get would be to have to get a tap and dye set.

 

dealer is dumb or just didn't want to tell me the exact issue. A bolt rattled out of the hotside/o2 housing combo, 1 of the 5.

Can't get to the bolt without pulling the hotside off :-/

 

not to bad though.

 

Yeah, all is fixed now. Took about 3 hours. Went quicker than when I first did the hotside a couple years ago.
