I have been waiting for this post for awhile now. Great job Martin and AMS this is going to help allot for allot of people. So now back to the testing i want to see the GSC S3, Kelford, and FP series cam tests. I heard the FP showed suprising results but that was just a rumor. Keep up the good work all this information being shared with the community is great!

prob not, they have already been beaten out by other cams, but they are a good cam for the money.

be careful with that, beating out isnt all bout peak HP. Much of make a great cam a great cam is how the customer uses his or her car. In Hamflex's case he is a dedicated road racer and the HKS cam is a GREAT option as it offers zero loss in the low end and very nice gains up top.

This test is not about what is the best cam but rather a very nice guideline on what is the best cam for "your application"

How was the fueling and timing maps handled for all of this? Was a target AFR dialed in for all the cams that was the same? Thanks for going through all this trouble!

If you still have a chance, I might throw in the Cosworth M2 cams.

Some cams picked up almost 100whp at 22psi over the stock cams, but lost quite a bit of spool and bottom end power.

Tuning was done through the AEM EMS. I used AEM boost control and dialed in the error control so boost was as close as possible throughout the runs. Scott from FP came down for some of the tests so he saw some of the procedures I go through.
A/F was adjusted to keep it at 11.5:1 and ignition timing was not changed.

Cosworth did not want to be part of the test unfortunately, I really wanted to see what they would do.

Subscribing to this. I really want to see how the cams really effect spool, shape of curve, and max power.

I know, I was just giving a general response to a general comment, knowing well that there is more to just peak power in a cam than just that. Thanks Eric.

+1 I was waiting for this post aswell. They tested the FP4R in the second Camshaft Shootout, I'll let AMS post the results. Unless you have the issue. Great work AMS and a lot of info in the first two Camshaft Shootout can't wait to see the other cams and how they do.
