For the record, I installed S2 on evo 9 with hks turbo and my own IC piping and IC + ETS steel intake and on MAF it was impossible to get to idle and on small loads it was real bad... fueling was all over the place... even with getting mivec to do -0.6 deg intake cam timing

We then replaced the ETS intake with stock, and then it was quite ok apart from idle itself which was ok when tuned for 1100 RPM and a bit richer AFR but it always had this idle drop from time to time... sometimes almost shutting off..

When we switched the car to SD idle is perfect.. 950 RPM and 14.7 AFR.. and works fine even with a couple of deg of intake cam advance on idle and ETS intake.. ..
Sorry to bump this from ages ago but this is the EXACT PROBLEM I had with S2s in my evo ix. I had the metal ETS intake with a MAF and the car had very strange partial throttle and drivability issues. It felt horrible. Switched to speed density and the car drives 100% now. But my idle is a little muffed pretty sure my coilpacks are going out at 99k miles.

That's a way old test. I think the GSC S2's are the new standard. On stroker motors, the R2's are even better.

I have them, not QUITE stock, my S1's are stock idle. Very good however certainly 100% street-able.

I still have the Kelfords.

Thought about switching to the S2's, not sure the gains would be with the expense and work though..especially as I rarely go above 7k.
