The original post simply compared the results of 2 exactly the same dynos on the same car. That seems to be something that anyone who's ever dyno'd their car wonders when they see another car on another dyno and it's results. This comparative information is good when it comes to an owner and what he should 'expect' out of his car when he (or she) hits the track. Imagine for a minute that someone dyno's their car on XYZ dyno and the number matches another car at a different tuner's shop, but the same type dyno. This comparative post keeps the expectations of the owner in check. Maybe the same times shouldn't be expected, just because they're the same type dyno, much less if different dyno types are used. Realistic expectations for owners is a good thing.

I've got a question! Don't take it the wrong way, I'm just trying to learn here...

Is the BR dyno just the lowest reading dyno or is it the most accurate to actual power readings?

Is there an exact amount of drivetrain loss, or is all that a dyno is just a rough estimate?

I'm not trashin, I just dunno why it just seems people talk like the BR dyno is the shiznite and all the other dynos that people use give inaccurate numbers

...because really for a customer paying for dyno time they would be wanting good, accurate numbers, not grossly inflated or even under-inflated numbers.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I didn't feel like filtering thru 5 pages of stuff or filtering thru like 15 pages of other threads on the same exact crap.

I AIN'T coming down to DTM. You said you wanted to run at a shootout in within the next 60 days. Well you and your customers are in luck!!

Buschur Racing Import Shootout
May 24th-Dyno day at Buschur Racing, 3 runs for 50 bucks.
May 25th Buschur Racing Import Shootout at Summit Motorsports Park

We will be there will all of our cars and the three other pump gas cars mentioned will be there too.

We can dyno the cars on Saturday the 24th and then run them on the 25th.

Should make for great entertainment, this is the first year for the event, the last 3 years we did a Subaru VS Mitsubishi race, Subi's don't like to play with Mitsu's. This year it is open to any and all 4 cylinder powered vehicles.

See you guys next Saturday and Sunday.

Until someone can explain to me what a hp is and how it can be accurately measured, I could care less what # is applied to it. Even then, I would only care what the #'s were IF there was a uniform way to measure. Kinda like a ruler. No matter who's hand it's in an inch is an inch. Thats why you'll never see a hp # in my sig. Only track times. I've been out of town the last few weekends so no time for new #'s until next week.

DB, thanks for the kind words in the first post. I just refuse to get all riled up over this kind of stuff. As I said before, I have have no intention of taking the car all over the place to prove anything. Not trying to impress anyone. Just want to have some fun. If I thought it would be fun you could keep the 1600.00 and I'd come for free. However as passionate and competitive as you and Nick are, I couldn't see it being any fun....lol

blizzack, I don't know if our dyno is right or wrong. All I know is it seems as though our numbers are lower than all the rest. I don't know why ours is low or others are higher. I don't even care to be honest. It is a tuning tool, as has been said. The only time I care is when there is some "record" in question and comments are made. That is my only purpose behind this thread, just to show a comparison.

04wwrs, it is very hard for me to keep track of screen names. I am assuming from your post you are the owner of the 620 whp car, right? I see your times in your signature, what is the best MPH of the car so far?

Nick and I have met face-to-face quite a few times in the past, I don't think any of those times were less than polite.

If you wanted to come here to dyno or to race there would be no problems at all, I assure you of that. Might be a few smart *** comments but that is expected when being within 50 feet of me

You definetely seem like a cool dude. Good luck with your car.

Not sure if you read my post, BUT I said that it would not be in the near future because of workload.
Now I DID say that it would take 40-60 days before I would be free to have some "fun"
Are you having the DSM shootout again this year? That is what I asked. It usually is held in August correct?
If so, Count us in.

I wouldn't worry about face to face contact. I didn't have a problem extending my hand at the NASA nationals last year and I wouldn't have a problem doing it again.
On the internet everyone acts like a tough guy until you meet in person for one reason or another. BUT when your at the track, a different mindset sets in. Competition drives us all. In the end we are all striving for the same thing, having a good time and hopefully coming out on top with a win. In drag racing as long as you leave running your in good shape.
Let me know if the shootout is still on. We will be there for sure if it is.

Sorry for that rant, just got off the phone with some idiot who wouldn't shut up about how great his dyno queen is. Bla bla bla.
Hey ive been to the track and at low boost 38psi i ran 160 mph. Will be back this Saturday at 8am Turning up the wick. I hope my transfer case holds up tho

Yep, thats my car. Only been to the track once in its current configuration. Got there late a few cars broke so I only got 2 runs in. Best trap was 132.xx missing 2nd and 4th. Actually more that just missing 2nd. When it finally went in I lost waaaay to many rpm's.

wow that was a good read... Original spark plugs and stuff...

Customers might understand for work load... but the bank and rent does not. I don't think that anyone in their right mind would pass on their rent $$$ to prove someone wrong on the internet.

lets get real please!

I hope there is a shoot out this year!!! Does anyone know if Magnus will be down for it also?
